VEHICLE-MOUNTED ALERT SYSTEM AND ALERT CONTROL DEVICE
20170305342 · 2017-10-26 ·

A vehicle-mounted alert system includes display devices equipped to a vehicle, a sight line detection device detecting driver's sight line, a surrounding monitoring device detecting a presence of an object near the vehicle and a direction of the object with respect to the vehicle, and an alert control device controlling the display devices to display an alert image for informing the driver of the presence of the object detected by the surrounding monitoring device. The alert control device controls the display device located in a direction of the sight line of the driver to display the alert image, and then, controls the display devices so that the alert image successively moves from the display device located in the direction of the sight line of the driver to the display device determined based on the direction of the object detected by the surrounding monitoring device.

VEHICLE SENSING SYSTEM

A vehicle sensing system is for being disposed on a vehicle. The vehicle sensing system includes a calculating unit, which includes a turning calculating module and a vehicle dimension dataset. The vehicle dimension dataset includes at least one of a wheelbase, a vehicle width, a front overhang and a rear overhang of the vehicle. The calculating unit is configured to receive a turning dataset of the vehicle. Based on the turning calculating module, the calculating unit is configured to determine an inner front wheel and an inner rear wheel. The calculating unit is configured to further determine a turning alarm zone in accordance with the vehicle dimension dataset and the turning dataset. The turning alarm zone is dependent on at least one of time and the turning dataset.

A safety alert system includes a child seat that may be positioned within a vehicle. The child seat has a plurality of belts and each of the belts may restrain a child in the child seat. A remote unit may be retrofitted to a dome light of the vehicle. The remote unit generates an alarm sequence when a door of the vehicle is opened. A base unit is removably coupled to the belts on the child seat and the base unit is in electrical communication with the remote unit. The base unit emits an audible alarm when the remote unit generates the alarm sequence. Thus, the base unit may prevent the child from being inadvertently left unattended in the vehicle.

A method for providing sound detection information producing a result of sound detection based on sound data generated by detecting sound generated around a host vehicle, may include determining an opposite lane vehicle detection index based on the result of sound detection, the opposite lane vehicle detection index forming a basis of determination of presence or absence of an opposite lane vehicle, and controlling a notification of a neighboring vehicle travelling around the host vehicle or controlling the host vehicle according to the opposite lane vehicle detection index, wherein the result of sound detection is information about the probability of presence of the neighboring vehicle for respective angles in frames consecutive over time.

Multi-camera vision system for a vehicle

A multi-camera vision system for a vehicle includes a plurality of video cameras having respective fields of view external of the vehicle. Captured image data is provided to and processed at a central data processor in order to detect objects that are within the field of view of at least some of the video cameras. The vehicle is equipped with a sensor system having at least one non-visual sensor that senses sensor data in a region external of the vehicle. The sensed sensor data is provided to the central data processor. A potential hazard present exterior the vehicle is determined to exist via processing at the central data processor of at least one of received image data and received sensor data.

System and method for detecting obstacles using a single camera

The present application provides an obstacle detection system and method thereof. The obstacle detection method comprises: obtaining a first image captured by a camera at a first time point; identifying a vertical edge candidate in the first image, and measuring a first length of the vertical edge candidate based on the first image; obtaining a second image captured by the camera at a second time point; measuring a second length of the vertical edge candidate based on the second image; calculating a difference between the first length and the second length; and comparing the difference with a predetermined length difference threshold, if the difference is greater than the length difference threshold, outputting a message that an obstacle is found.
