ENHANCED SENSOR CLEANING VALIDATION

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced sensor cleaning validation. A device may receive a signal from a sensor indicative of an obstruction on the sensor. The device may activate a cleaning system at a degree of actuation responsive to the obstruction. The device may then obtain a first post-clean performance measurement of the sensor. The device may then adjust the degree of actuation of the cleaning system based on a degradation measurement between a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of the sensor and the first post-clean performance measurement.

Trailer connector

There is provided a vehicle mounted device (1) for connecting the electrical circuit of a towing vehicle to the electrical circuit of a towed vehicle. The device includes a body (2), a towed-side connector, and a towing side connector (3). The device is configured to receive input signals corresponding to the lights of the towing vehicle and to transmit these signals to the electrical circuits of the towed vehicle. The device includes a protection component to isolate the towing vehicle electrical system. The device may be configured to perform a testing protocol. The testing protocol can include a safety protocol that determines whether a towed vehicle is electrically connected to the device. The testing protocol may also test the functionality of the electrical circuits for the towing and towed vehicles.

VEHICULAR LAMP SYSTEM AND VEHICULAR LAMP

To provide a vehicular lamp system and a vehicular lamp which can reduce a replacement frequency of the vehicular lamp. The vehicular lamp system includes a vehicular lamp having a plurality of elements capable of irradiating a corresponding irradiation region with light and a detection unit that detects presence or absence of an abnormality in the plurality of elements, and a notification unit that notifies abnormality information concerning occurrence of an abnormality when the abnormality is detected in a target element capable of irradiating a predetermined irradiation region with light among the plurality of elements.

A vehicular lamp system includes a vehicular lamp having a plurality of elements capable of emitting light to a corresponding irradiation region and a detection unit that detects presence or absence of an abnormality in the plurality of elements, and a notification unit that notifies abnormality information concerning occurrence of the abnormality when the abnormality was detected in the element, in which the notification unit notifies the abnormality information with contents, which are different between a case where the abnormality is detected in the target element capable of emitting light to a predetermined region among the plurality of elements and a case where the abnormality is detected in the non-target element different from the target element among the plurality of elements.

Method for dynamically monitoring a trailer lighting system from a traction vehicle

A method for monitoring, from a traction vehicle, a lighting system of a trailer with first lights having at least one brake light, at least one right tail light, at least one left tail light, at least one rear fog light and/or at least one reversing light, wherein the first lights are supplied with electricity from the traction vehicle via electric circuits, and wherein during the monitoring of the lighting system of the trailer, each of the first lights is periodically checked with a first waiting time, the check determining whether the electric circuit having the first light to be checked is closed or not, wherein the first waiting time between two checks of one of the first lights is extended incrementally starting from an initial value for each individual first light if the electric circuit through this first light is not interrupted.

This invention provides a method for detecting a failure in a solid-state light source of an automotive lighting device. This method provides an estimated temperature profile for the lighting device, measures an actual temperature profile of the lighting device and compares the estimated temperature profile with the actual temperature profile in order to detect a difference between them.

TRAILER LIGHTING OUTAGE DETECTION CIRCUIT

A vehicle LED lighting outage detection circuit is disclosed for detecting a fault in the LED light and automatically increasing the power drawn from the light power supply in response to the fault. A complementary detection circuit is also disclosed for detecting the increased power draw and signaling a fault to an operator. The increased power draw can be selected to be in the form of a pulse that settles to a lower power draw state after a time to avoid excessive and wasteful power draw. The system can be mounted in a vehicle and, more particularly, to a semi- tractor truck.

A light converting device comprising: a light converter with a light entrance surface and a light emission surface, wherein the light converter is arranged to convert laser light scanned over the light entrance surface to converted light, wherein a peak emission wavelength of the converted light is in a longer wavelength range than a laser peak emission wavelength of the laser light, a confinement structure enclosing the light converter, wherein the confinement structure is arranged to preserve a geometric shape of the light converter in case of a mechanical failure of the light converter. A laser-based light source comprising such a light converting device and a vehicle headlight comprising such a laser-based light source.

Enhanced sensor cleaning validation

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced sensor cleaning validation. A device may determine a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of a sensor. The device may actuate a cleaning mechanism to remove at least a portion of an obstruction deposited on the sensor. The device may determine a first post-clean performance measurement associated with the sensor. The device may determine a degradation measurement between the baseline performance measurement and the first post-clean performance measurement, wherein the degradation measurement indicates an effectiveness of the cleaning mechanism.
