Method and apparatus for vehicular light fixtures

A terrain viewing apparatus is provided to enable greater viewability of environmental conditions around a vehicle. A housing of the terrain viewing apparatus may include a lighting apparatus for emitting light and illuminating environmental conditions during nighttime, dusk, or adverse weather conditions. The housing may further include a reflecting apparatus to increase an operator's ability to view environmental conditions outside the vehicle. One or more joints may enable the housing to be adjustable with respect to the vehicle. An internal joint may enable the reflecting apparatus to be adjustable with respect to the housing. The lighting apparatus may receive power from the vehicle. The lighting and reflecting apparatuses may be electrically coupled to the vehicle and may be controllable therefrom.

Pattern-based intelligent personalized choreography for software-defined vehicle

Vehicles, systems and methods for acquiring a choreographic light pattern not previously available to the vehicles are presented. In some aspects, a target vehicle includes a processing system therein, an input interface coupled to the processing system and accessible to a user, and one or more image or other sensors positioned for capturing data from a source vehicle emitting a light pattern of interest. The processing system may scan and record a light pattern emitted by a portion of another vehicle in a line of sight of the vehicle. The scan uses data from the sensors and pattern recognition code. The identified light pattern is converted into metadata and transmitted to a central database. If the transmitted pattern is available and compatible with the target vehicle, the database may send a prompt to the target vehicle to download or purchase the pattern.

Holographic lighting device

The invention relates to a lighting device for a vehicle having at least one lighting channel for generating a holographic light function assigned to this lighting channel by lighting a holographic structure of the lighting channel. Each channel includes a lighting assembly and a coupling-in surface of a light guide body disposed along a main beam direction of the lighting assembly. The lighting device also includes a holographic structure disposed on the coupling-out surface of the light guide body. The coupling-out surface is disposed in a beam path of the coupled-in light beams, so that lighting of the coupling-out surface takes place at an angle which is greater than a critical angle of the total reflection. The invention also relates to a rear light for a vehicle and to a vehicle.
