Pre-stunning or stunning of animals with a combination of O.SUB.2., CO.SUB.2 .and NO.SUB.2
When stunning animals e.g. by CO.sub.2-stunning aversive reactions may be seen among the animals as a reaction to the high concentration of CO.sub.2. To avoid the aversive reactions animals can be pre-stunned before being final-stunned and perhaps killed or slaughtered when stunned. Pre-stunning of animals may be performed with a combination of gas for pre-stunning comprising at least air and/or O.sub.2 together with CO.sub.2 e.g. in a concentration below 40%, at least air and/or O2 together with N2O, or at least air and/or O.sub.2 together with N.sub.2O and CO.sub.2, where CO.sub.2 may bi in a concentration below 40%. For larger animals such as pigs pre-stunning is performed for less than 60 seconds. A stunning system may comprise means for pre-stunning of animals before performing a final-stunning and may include gas storage for re-use of the pre-stunning gas.

Handling system for transport units of live poultry in a slaughterhouse
A handling system for transport units of live poultry in a slaughterhouse, includes an inlet station, a transfer line to receive drawer-like cages extracted from supporting frames of the transport units, and an extraction device. Between the inlet station and the transfer line a rigid receiving structure of the two stacks of drawer-like cages is interposed, vertically displaceable between a position of simultaneous receipt of the two stacks of extracted drawer-like cages and a separate depositing position of the drawer-like cages of each stack onto the transfer line.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING MEAT PRODUCTS
A slaughtered animal meat handling device and a method for transporting meat products from a receiving area to a discharge area device are provided. The device includes at least one supply conveyor, a suction transporter and at least one return conveyor. Meat products that are not engaged by the suction transporter are transported away from the transfer area towards the receiving area by the return conveyor. The meat products are reintroduced onto the supply conveyor away for the transfer area, for again being transported towards the transfer area. The supply conveyor and the return conveyor provide a circulation of meat products. By reintroducing the meat products onto the supply conveyor away from the transfer area, the chance of getting the meat products correctly positioned on the supply conveyor with respect to a suction opening of the suction transporter is increased.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTINUOUS LIVESTOCK SUPPLY
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for continuously supplying livestock to a processing plant. The disclosed technology can include an enclosure configured to house livestock. The enclosure can include an enclosure entrance, an enclosure exit, and moveable walls to partition the enclosure into separate pens and automatically direct the livestock from the enclosure entrance toward the enclosure exit. A passageway can be connected to the enclosure exit and include moveable walls to automatically direct the livestock from the enclosure exit toward a processing plant. The moveable walls can be configured to move at a predetermined speed such that the plurality of livestock enter the enclosure as offspring, are reared in the enclosure, and are directed through the enclosure exit into the passageway approximately when the plurality of livestock have reached slaughter weight.
TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SICK AND DEAD LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY
A treatment system for sick and dead livestock and poultry, including a cracking and propagation system, a heating and heat balancing system, a waste gas treatment system and a detection and control system. The heating and heat balancing system is connected with a water jacket and a coil of the cracking and propagation system by pipes. A waste gas exhaust pipe of the cracking and propagation system is connected with the waste gas treatment system. The detection and control system controls connection of the above systems. The present invention creatively designs pollution treatment equipment, innovates the treatment mode, soaks sick and dead livestock and poultry and placentas in livestock and poultry manure liquid for cracking and fermentation and turns waste into wealth, so that not only the sick and dead livestock and poultry and placentas are completely harmless, but also a resource utilization rate is maximized.
