A system for communicating with removable components may include an electronic controller and a removable component having an identifier and configured to communicate with the electronic controller. The removable component may be configured to transmit the identifier to the electronic controller via a first communication channel. The electronic controller may be configured to transmit a confirmation to the removable component after receipt of the identifier. The removable component may be configured to transmit information to the electronic controller via at least one of the first communication channel and/or a second communication channel, after receipt of the confirmation.

A system for communicating with removable components may include an electronic controller and a removable component having an identifier and configured to communicate with the electronic controller. The removable component may be configured to transmit the identifier to the electronic controller via a first communication channel. The removable component may be configured to transmit information to the electronic controller via at least one of the first communication channel and/or a second communication channel, after receipt of the confirmation.

A key retention device and a portable dock for the key retention device are disclosed. The key retention device includes a key holder and a base. The key holder is rotatably coupled to the base. The base includes pins that extend into a cavity of the key holder when the key holder is in a closed position and do not extend into the cavity when the key holder is in an open position. The base includes a finger that prevents users from inserting an electronic key into the key holder when the key holder is in the closed position. The key retention device can receive the portable dock and lock the key holder in the locked position when a user input is received. The user input can be provided to the key retention device to remove an electronic key from the portable dock or to remove the portable dock altogether.

State data of the combination (8) are determined by means of a sensor system (17) and it is determined whether the combination (8) moves forward or backward. The hitch angle (14) is determined based on the state data, if the combination (8) moves forward and based on a change of time-dependent image data, if the combination moves backward. A position of the subsection is determined depending on the hitch angle (14).

A vehicle cover blow-off prevention system for holding down a vehicle cover to prevent it from blowing off during windy conditions. The system includes tire mats configured to support a tire of the vehicle thereon. The tire mats include a mat body, a tire stop, and a mat connector member. Cover straps can be used to secure the vehicle cover to the vehicle. The cover strap includes a first and second cover connector member. The first cover connector member is configured to engage with the mat connector member of a first of the tire mats, and the second cover connector member is configured to engage with the mat connector member of a second of the tire mats. The weight of the vehicle holds the mats in place, which accordingly holds the cover on the vehicle.
