CANOPY STRUCTURE FOR TRUCK BODY
A canopy of a dump body for a truck comprises a deck having a length and a width greater in dimension that the length defined by a front edge, a rear edge opposite the front edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge opposite the first side edge. The deck can define an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. In a front view the deck can define a concave shape, with a center portion and stepped portions between the center portion and the first and second side edges.
Accident monitoring using remotely operated or autonomous aerial vehicles
A system to monitor vehicle accidents using a network of aerial based monitoring systems, terrestrial based monitoring systems and in-vehicle monitoring systems is described. Aerial vehicles used for this surveillance include manned and unmanned aircraft, satellites and lighter than air craft. Aerial vehicles can also be deployed from vehicles. The deployment is triggered by sensors registering a pattern in the data that is indicative of an accident that has happened or an accident about to happen.
Impact beam
The present invention relates to an impact beam having a structure in which a plurality of peak portions and a plurality of valley portions are repeatedly and alternately disposed, and including a reinforcement fiber that is continuously coupled to at least one of the plurality of peak portions and the plurality of valley portions along a length direction.
System for self-escape from a safety harness having a plurality of mounted web cutters and glass break tools
A system for self-extrication from a safety harness by the wearer, or during rescue of the wearer, in the event of an emergency including one or more combination cutter and glass break tools mounted onto and around selected portions of the safety harness at predetermined positions for use in cutting the webbing straps of the safety harness in the event of the inoperability of any safety harness release resulting in the severing of the harness at such a predetermined position and further resulting in the combination tool being freed for use in breaking glass out of a window of a vehicle.

Ultrasonic type object detection apparatus
An ultrasonic type object detection apparatus sequentially detects a distance between an ultrasonic sensor and an object in a coverage of a transmission wave at a predetermined detection cycle based on a time taken for the ultrasonic sensor to transmit the transmission wave and then to receive a reflection wave. The apparatus includes: a storage storing the distance to the object; a vehicle information acquisition device acquiring vehicle information for calculating a movement distance; a detection distance predictor predicting a next detected distance to the object based on a past detection result and the vehicle information; and a short range determinator determining whether the object is present in a short range area in which the distance between the object and the ultrasonic sensor is equal to or shorter than a short range threshold.

Side curtain air bag
An airbag includes an airbag body having a first expansion portion, a second expansion portion, a first non-expanding part, and a second non-expanding part. While the airbag body is in a deployed state, the first expansion portion is disposed on a side of an occupant; the second expansion portion is disposed at a front side of the first expansion portion and is enlarged downward with respect to the first expansion portion; the first non-expanding part includes a first extending part extending downward from an upper part of the second expansion portion and a second extending part extending upward from a lower part of the second expansion portion, and has an opening between a tip of the first extending part and a tip of the second extending part; and the second non-expanding part is disposed rearwardly apart from the opening and extends at least partially along the first non-expanding part.
Leg restraining airbag
An apparatus, system, and method for helping to protect occupants of a vehicle in the event of a collision. The apparatus comprising an inflatable tube having a first and second end connected to the floor of the vehicle and a middle portion therebetween and an inflator that is actuatable to direct inflation fluid into the inflatable tube in response to a vehicle collision. The inflatable tube is configured to inflate and deploy from the vehicle floor in response to receiving inflation fluid from the inflator. The middle portion extends from the floor and forms an arch into which the lower legs and/or feet of the occupant can move into in response to a collision and be restrained.
Vehicular airbag device
A vehicular airbag device capable of improving reduction of an occupant obstruction value during a diagonal collision. A vehicular airbag device opens an airbag door on an instrument panel. The outer shape of the airbag when fully deployed and expanded is line-symmetrical with respect to a center line of the opening in a vehicle left-right width direction, and a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a rear edge of the instrument panel in the vehicle longitudinal direction is greater than a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a center of the opening in the vehicle longitudinal direction which is more forward in the vehicle longitudinal direction than the rear edge position of the instrument panel.
