COLLISION DAMAGE REDUCTION DEVICE
A collision damage reduction device to be applied to a vehicle provided with a door and a side sill includes an airbag and a door beam. The airbag is deployed from a container disposed on a lower side of the door to a region on a vehicle-widthwise outside of the door. The airbag includes a first air chamber and a second air chamber. After being deployed, the first air chamber has an upper end disposed higher than the door beam and a lower end disposed lower than an upper end of the side sill, at least within a range in which its position in a vehicle front-rear direction overlaps with a seating surface of a seat. The second air chamber extends across a lower part of the first air chamber and the container, and has a lower internal pressure than the first air chamber after being deployed.
PET GUARD APPARATUS TO BE APPLIED TO VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE
A pet guard apparatus to be applied to a vehicle includes a pet guard body and a first air-bag device. The pet guard body is attachable to a vehicle compartment of the vehicle in which a pet is to be placed in such a manner that the pet guard body extends in a vertical direction in the vehicle compartment to partition the vehicle compartment into a front portion and a rear portion. The first air-bag device is attached to the pet guard body. The first air-bag device includes a pet air-bag and a pet air-bag inflator. The pet air-bag is configured to be deployed behind the pet guard body. The pet air-bag inflator is configured to be operated to deploy the pet air-bag upon contact of the vehicle.
Alert output apparatus
From each of in-vehicle units in vehicles, a travel behavior data indicating a travel behavior of the vehicle is received and recorded in a travel history database. The travel behavior data of the vehicles are read from the travel history database; an avoidance action arising in each of the vehicles is detected based on the read travel behavior data. From the detected avoidance actions of the vehicles, a related avoidance action group being avoidance actions arising due to an identical object at different positions at different points of times in different target vehicles is extracted based on an occurrence position and an occurrence point of time of each detected avoidance action. Information on position change of the identical object as a cause of the extracted related avoidance action group is recorded as an alert target data.
Object recognition apparatus and object recognition method
An object recognition apparatus groups reflection points detected by a radar device, and recognizes an object around the own vehicle, based on a radar-based target detected using the grouped plurality of reflection points and an image-based target detected using an image captured by an image capturing device. The object recognition apparatus includes a reflection point acquiring unit that acquires reflection point information related to the grouped plurality of reflection points, and an object determining unit that determines that a plurality of objects have been detected as a single object by the radar device, based on the reflection point information acquired by the reflection point acquiring unit and the information on the image-based target, if the image-based target detected by the imaging device includes an image-only target not detected by the radar device.
Recognition processing apparatus, recognition processing method, and recognition processing program
A recognition processing apparatus includes a video acquisition unit configured to acquire first captured image data of surroundings of a host vehicle captured by a far-infrared camera, an other vehicle detection unit configured to detect another vehicle parked or stopped in the surroundings of the host vehicle, a heat detection unit configured to detect radiated heat associated with an operation of the other vehicle based on a thermal distribution in a region corresponding to the other vehicle in the first captured image data, and a person detection unit configured to, when the radiated heat has been detected, preferentially execute person recognition in a vicinity of the other vehicle to detect a person. The recognition processing apparatus can ascertain the possibility that a person gets out of a detected vehicle and promptly detect such a person.
Sensor system
A left front camera (11) is adapted to be mounted on a left front lamp (1LF) of a vehicle to obtain external information of at least ahead of the vehicle. A right front LiDAR sensor (12), a type of which is different from the camera (11), is adapted to be mounted on a right front lamp (1RF) of the vehicle to obtain external information of at least ahead of the vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Having at Least One Retaining Device
A motor vehicle has a passenger compartment for at least one vehicle user and has at least one sensor device for detecting a location of the vehicle user in the passenger compartment. At least one retaining device is used to fix the vehicle user in his/her location. A control device is provided to activate the at least one retaining device according to a signal of at least one impact sensor of the motor vehicle. The at least one retaining device is designed to fix the vehicle user in a location in the passenger compartment different from a vehicle seat of the motor vehicle. A method operates such a motor vehicle.
Head protection airbag device
A head protection airbag device includes an airbag including a front seat protection portion, and an end side expansion portion, and a partition closing portion. The airbag is configured to be provided with a single receiving area where the head which moves diagonally forward at the time of an oblique collision or an offset collision of the vehicle is received by the front seat protection portion, and a collaborative receiving area where the head is received by the front seat protection portion and the end side expansion portion. The partition closing portion is linearly provided to be inclined forward and downward in a state where the airbag is viewed from a side when the expansion of the airbag is completed. The collaborative receiving area includes vehicle inner side surfaces of the end side expansion portion and the front seat protection portion with the partition closing portion interposed therebetween.
OCCUPIED SEAT DETECTION DEVICE, OCCUPIED SEAT DETECTION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
An occupied seat detection device includes: at least one receiver that is disposed in a space including a plurality of seats and receives at least one of sound generated inside the space or sound generated outside the space; an acoustic characteristics analyzer that calculates, from a signal received by the at least one receiver, temporal characteristics or frequency characteristics of the sound in the space; and a detector that detects whether an occupant is present or whether an occupied seat is present inside the space, based on the temporal characteristics or the frequency characteristics calculated by the acoustic characteristics analyzer, and outputs a detection result.
