FRUNK AND TRUNK STORAGE BAGGAGE RETENTION AND REMAINDER
A baggage storage and retention system includes a first vehicle seat receiving a first passenger in a vehicle. A second vehicle seat of the vehicle receives a second passenger. Each vehicle seat has a seatbelt assembly generating a seatbelt locked signal when one of the first or second passengers seated in the vehicle seat closes the seatbelt assembly defining a seatbelt closed condition. A vehicle storage compartment has multiple strap and/or lock assemblies. A first strap assembly generates a first strap locked signal when a first baggage item of the first passenger is placed in the vehicle storage compartment, engaged with the first baggage item and closed defining a strap assembly closed condition. A passenger and baggage identification system receives the seatbelt locked signal and the first strap locked signal and links the first passenger to the first seat and the first baggage item to the first passenger.
Downforce feedback systems and control logic for active aerodynamic devices of motor vehicles
Disclosed are downforce feedback systems for active aerodynamic devices, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with a closed-loop downforce feedback system to govern operation of the vehicle's active aero device(s). A feedback control system for operating an active aerodynamic device of a motor vehicle includes one or more pressure sensors for detecting fluid pressures in one or more pneumatic or hydraulic actuators for moving the active aero device. A vehicle controller receives fluid pressure signals from these sensor(s), and calculates an actual downforce value from these signal(s). The controller retrieves a calibrated downforce value from mapped vehicle downforce data stored in memory, and determines if the actual downforce value differs from the calibrated value. If so, the controller determines a target position for a target downforce value for a current vehicle operating condition, and commands the actuator(s) to move the active aero device to the target position.
Safety belt device for vehicle
A safety belt device configured for a vehicle may include a belt driving device disposed on a seat, connected to a waist belt in a state in which an occupant wears a seat belt, and moving the waist belt in a predetermined direction to allow the waist belt to wrap around the occupant's waist when the waist belt is positioned at a rear side and to allow the waist belt to be caught between an ankle and the waist of the occupant when the waist belt is moved forward thereof; and a controller receiving a signal generated according to an occurrence of a vehicle collision and controlling the belt driving device upon receiving the impact signal to allow the waist belt to be moved from the rear to the front.
Buckle assembly
A buckle assembly includes a frame, a latch plate, and a tongue. The frame includes a latch opening and a slot for receiving the tongue. The latch plate is configured to be linearly displaced within the frame between a locked position and an unlocked position and includes a latch portion. The tongue includes a tongue opening having an angled leading end. When the tongue is inserted into the frame slot, the latch plate is biased to the locked position such that the latch portion of the latch plate traverses the angled leading end of the tongue opening until the angled leading end of the latch portion of the latch plate is secured in the latch opening in the locked position. In preferred embodiments, the buckle assembly includes a seat belt connected to the tongue for securing a user to a seat of a vehicle.

DEPLOYABLE SEAT MOUNTED OCCUPANT SHOULDER RESTRAINT FOR SIDE IMPACT
A vehicle safety system is mounted on a far-side vehicle seat for protecting a far-side occupant in a near-side impact crash event. The vehicle safety system includes an occupant restraint mounted on an inboard side of a seat back of the far-side vehicle seat. The restraint includes a support frame rotatable from a stowed condition where the support frame is aligned with the seat back and a deployed condition where the support frame is forward of the seat back. The support frame includes a rear arm and a forward arm each rotatably connected to the seat back at separate mounting points with the mounting point of the rear arm located above the mounting point of the forward arm. In a near-side impact crash event the restraint is rotated into the deployed condition inboard of the far-side vehicle seat to restrain the far-side occupant against lateral movement within the vehicle.

Methods and apparatus for categorization of vehicle loading and display thereof
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for categorization of vehicle loading and display thereof. An example apparatus includes a vehicle load condition manager programmed to categorize a first load data and second load data associated with a vehicle, compare a summation of the first and second load data to a threshold, and generate an alert for display via a user interface when the summation of the first and second load data exceeds the threshold.
