System and method for bit error rate monitoring
In an embodiment, a method of determining whether to trigger an event based on data blocks having status data includes electronically receiving the data blocks over a channel, performing a data integrity check on the data blocks to determine whether a particular data block has a transmission fault, calculating a received error metric based on performing the data integrity check, and disabling an event trigger if the received error metric crosses a first error threshold.
Belt buckle with belt buckle housing
A belt buckle for a plug-in tongue of a vehicle seat belt. The buckle includes a holding mechanism for holding an inserted plug-in tongue and with a belt buckle housing which includes a first shell part and a second shell part locked onto the first shell part. The buckle includes a rod-shaped latch element that is mounted on the first shell part. The latch element is pushed along its longitudinal direction into a latch receiver of the second shell part and is held there by means of at least one pair of latching fins. The latching fins on opposite sides of the latch element each bear at an angle on a latch edge, formed on the surface of the latch element, and prevent a withdrawal of the latch element from the latch receiver counter to the insertion direction.

Vehicle electrical system architecture
The invention relates to a vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine and a vehicle electrical system, which comprises a battery, a current distributor, a starter, a generator, and electrical loads, in such a way that the vehicle comprises a first supply line, the first supply line connects the current distributor to a starter terminal or to the starter, the vehicle comprises a second supply line, the second supply line connects the current distributor to a support point, and the electrical loads and the generator are electrically connected to the support point.
Buckle device
A buckle device includes: a buckle body that retains a tongue through which a webbing worn across an occupant is inserted; a fixing plate that is fixed to a vehicle seat; a wire harness that is connected to the buckle body; and a coupling webbing that is formed in a belt shape and that couples the buckle body and the fixing plate together. The buckle device further includes a boot that covers the coupling webbing in a state in which a part of the wire harness is disposed inside the boot, and that includes a projection shaped portion that restricts movement of the wire harness in the width direction of the coupling webbing.
APPARATUS FOR RETAINING A SEAT BELT
Embodiments of the present invention provide a seat belt retainer for a vehicle, the retainer comprising a body having an opening, the body being configured for attachment to a support. An actuator is mounted within the opening, the actuator being moveable within the opening for actuating a seat latch mechanism. A guide is supported by the body, the guide defining an at least partial aperture for receiving a seat belt therethrough. The actuator and the guide are at least partly aligned along the longitudinal axis of the seat belt passing through the aperture, in use.
Belt Pro
An antimicrobial barrier seatbelt covering apparatus for preventing a cross contamination between hosts contacting with a seatbelt includes stripes of antimicrobial material creating a barrier against pathogens accumulated on a seatbelt, a container for storage of the antimicrobial material that can be attached on one end of the seatbelt, and a holding device to fix the material on the other end of the seatbelt. The antimicrobial seatbelt covering may be used in applications including seatbelts in cars seats, airplanes, boats where the seatbelt covering controls the level of cross contamination by preventing unwanted microbes that contact the seatbelt and thereby, prevents the spread of disease and infections.
Vehicle sensing systems including retractable mounting structures
A vehicular sensing system, a vehicle and a method of performing one or both of vehicular mapping and navigating operations using the sensing system. The sensing system includes one or more sensors, a retractable mounting structure secured to a roof of the vehicle to be selectively placed within a recess formed in the roof. The mounting structure and sensor cooperative with one another such that the mounting structure selectively moves the sensor between a stowed position and a deployed position. A fairing is used to cover at least a portion of the sensing system and the recess when the sensing system is stowed within the recess. In a deployed position, the sensor is extended away from the roof to permit the sensor to acquire mapping or navigation data, while in its stowed position, the sensor, mounting structure and fairing define aesthetically-pleasing and aerodynamically unobtrusive profile across the portion of the roof that corresponds to the recess.
Method and control unit for triggering at least one passenger protection means
A method for triggering at least one passenger protection means. The method includes a step of reading in a control signal which contains a command for carrying out an activation of the passenger protection means. Furthermore, method includes a step of releasing an activation of the passenger protection means as a response to the read-in control signal. Furthermore, the method includes a step of evaluating the control signal for the identification of the command for carrying out the activation of the passenger protection means and activating the passenger protection means as a response to an identified command for carrying out the activation of the passenger protection means to trigger the passenger protection means.
Method of managing collisions between a plurality of vehicles and vehicle applying such a method
A method of managing collisions, the method comprising: identifying a first crash structure (22) and determining an initial stiffness of the crash structure; determining a level of aggressivity of the collision based on the predicted energy absorption for each vehicle; identifying a first crash structure whose stiffness can be adjusted, and determining a subsequent stiffness value for the crash structure based on the determined amount of energy to be absorbed by each of the vehicles such that the energy absorbed by the crash structure is changed and the level of aggressivity is reduced; and stiffening the first crash structure to the determined stiffness value.
