Leveling method and system with learn function
09616859 · 2017-04-11 · ·

A system and method to level a vehicle. The method utilizes a reference current draw unique for each individual actuator that is measured and saved at measured temperature and actuator actuating duration times. The reference current draws are adjusted by a fixed predetermined compensation increment and by a variable predetermined time and temperature increment. During operating function steps, actual extend and retract current draws are measured, which may be at another temperature and duration time. The adjusted reference current draws are compared to the actual extend and retract current draws to determine when desired conditions such as ground contact or fully retracted condition are achieved.

A method of leveling a parked freight trailer at a loading dock, the method comprising: (a) positioning a portable stabilizing device at least partially underneath a forward portion of the parked freight trailer; (b) positioning a lift associated with the portable stabilizing device to bear weight of the forward portion of the parked freight trailer; (c) reorienting the parked freight trailer so a floor of the parked freight trailer goes from a substantially non-parallel orientation to an approximately parallel orientation with respect to a floor of the loading dock by repositioning at least one of the jack and a landing gear of the parked freight trailer; and, (e) maintaining the lift in a weight bearing position while goods are at least one of unloaded from or loaded onto the parked freight trailer.

Trailer jack

A trailer jack comprising a vertically oriented vertically extendible jack and a mounting flange located on the jack. The mounting flange includes three bolt patterns. Each of the three bolt patterns includes a forward slot and two rear slots defined through the mounting flange. Each slot includes a longitudinal axis. The longitudinal axes of the slots of any single bolt pattern intersect at a bolt pattern axis that is closer to the forward slot than the rear slots. The longitudinal axes of the forward slots intersect at a central axis. The central axis is offset from each of the three bolt pattern axes. The rear slots of any of the bolt patterns are non-radial with regard to the central axis. The forward slot of any of the bolt patterns are radial with regard to the central axis.

Landing gear assembly

A landing gear assembly configured to support a trailer includes a leg assembly including a first leg member and a second leg member telescopingly received within the first leg member and adjustable between a retracted position and an extended position, a gear assembly operably coupled to the leg assembly and configured to move the first leg member between the retracted and extended positions, wherein the gear assembly includes a first shaft member, and a first bushing member rotatably supporting a first end of the first shaft member within the first leg member, wherein the first bushing member is attached to the first leg member via at least one first mechanical fastener, and wherein the first bushing member comprises a powdered metal.

DOLLY APPARATUSES INCLUDING SYNCHRONIZATION DEVICES

A dolly apparatus for use on an assembly line includes a frame and a synchronization device mounted to the frame. The synchronization device includes a body that mounts to the frame and a synchronization leg that is configured to move up and down relative to the body. The synchronization leg includes a foot that is configured to seat against a conveyor with the synchronization leg is a lowered position. A pedal is operatively linked to the synchronization leg such that downward movement of the pedal toward an actuated position moves the synchronization leg from a raised position to the lowered position. A release plate is operatively linked to the pedal such that movement of the release plate from a locked position to a release position causes the pedal to move from the actuated position toward an initial position to raise the synchronization leg toward the raised position.

Jack device and work machine equipped with same

Provided is a jack device rendering an operation of changing the posture of a jack cylinder easy without using a device that actively changes the posture. The jack device includes an arm, a jack body including the jack cylinder, and a reaction-force application unit supported by the arm. The reaction-force application unit makes a reaction-force moment act on the jack body in all postures from the upright posture to the storage posture in response to a force applied from the jack body. The reaction-force application unit makes a reaction-force moment greater than a self-weight moment act on the jack body in the storage posture and makes a reaction-force moment smaller than the self-weight moment act on the jack body in the upright posture.
