Intelligent caster system with occupancy detection and optional solar panel for use with a furniture component
The present disclosure relates to an electronic caster system for use with a furniture component. The system may have a caster with a body portion, a wheel supported for rolling movement relative to the body portion, and a neck portion. The neck portion may be adapted to be operably coupled to the furniture component to enable swiveling movement of the body portion. A processor may be provided which is supported on the caster. A sensing component may also be included which is carried on the caster for sensing a condition affecting the caster, and generating an output signal in accordance with the sensed condition to the processor.
Apparatus for recognizing lane partition lines
In an apparatus for recognizing a lane partition line, a pre-branch section setting unit sets a pre-branch section of a road on which an own vehicle is traveling. The pre-branch section extends a section length from a start line that is positioned closer to the own vehicle than a branch location by an offset distance in a traveling direction of the own vehicle. A determination unit determines whether or not a geographical location of the own vehicle is within the pre-branch section. If it is determined that the geographical location of the own vehicle is within the pre-branch section, a recognition unit suppresses recognition of the lane partition line on an diverging road side of the road on which the own vehicle is traveling. The diverging road is another road branching off from the road on which the vehicle is traveling at the branch location.
Electric power storage system
An electric power storage system for a vehicle includes: an electric power storage device; a converter configured to perform voltage conversion between the device and the motor; a DC/DC converter configured to step down an output voltage to an auxiliary machine or an auxiliary machine battery; a charger configured to charge the device with external electric power; and first and second relays disposed on first and second connection lines connecting the device to the converter, respectively. One end of the DC/DC converter is connected to the first connection line between the first relay and the converter and the other end is connected to the second connection line between the device and the second relay. The charger is disposed on a current path capable of charging the device with the external electric power when the first relay is in an ON state and the second relay is in an OFF state.

The front door sensor being configured to detect opening movement and closing movement of a front door. The rear door sensor configured to detect opening movement and closing movement of a rear door. The alerting device is configured to provide an alarm signal. The controller detects a sequence of events via the front door sensor and the rear door sensor. The controller determines whether or not an object might be located beside or on the rear seat of the passenger compartment, and operates the alerting device to provide the alarm signal to the vehicle operator in the absence of detection of conditions of an ignition switch of the vehicle.

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for customizing driving operations of a vehicle based on occupant(s) of the vehicle. An autonomous vehicle that includes a passenger compartment can determine a presence of an occupant of the passenger compartment. The autonomous vehicle can determine a location of the occupant within the passenger compartment. Additional information about the occupant can be determined. A driving operation can be selected from among a plurality of driving operations based on the location and additional information about the occupant. The selected driving operation can be performed, perhaps by the autonomous vehicle.
