Vehicle body and manufacturing method
An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a vehicle body. The method includes coupling a frame assembly to a platform, wherein the platform is in a cambered and unloaded condition, and wherein the frame assembly has a degree of play at coupling points with the platform and securing the coupling points to eliminate the degree of play and thereby to provide substantially zero residual stress in the vehicle body in the cambered condition.

Operating Mechanism for Rail Car Door
An operating mechanism for plug-type rail car doors includes first and second links connected to respective rotatable first support bars of the door. The links include respective elongated slots at least partially overlapping with one another, wherein each slot receives a respective cam. The cams are rotatable together about a rotational axis which is eccentrically arranged relative to both cams. An actuating lever is connected to the cams to enable an operator to rotate the cams about the rotational axis. The actuating lever is movable such that the first and second links are retracted relative to one another to simultaneously rotate the first and second support bars, and such that the first and second links are extended relative to one another to simultaneously counter-rotate the first and second support bars. A gear train may be provided between the actuating lever and the cams to reduce the necessary manual operating torque.
Roof segments for the roof of a carriage body
The application relates to roof segments for constructing a roof of a carriage body for a rail vehicle for passenger transport, in particular for use in short-haul operation, such as underground and suburban trains, the rail vehicles or the train units formed by same must be accelerated and decelerated at short intervals. The roof segments are designed in the form of plates, shells or half-shells and consist of an outer wall and an inner wall at a distance to same. At least two roof segments are configured in such a way that the protruding region of the outer wall or inner wall of one roof segment is interlockingly, force-lockingly and/or integrally connected to the non-protruding region of the outer wall or inner wall of the neighbouring roof segment. The roof segments consist at least partially of a fibre-reinforced plastic composite.
Multilayer composite and method for producing same
Provided is a multilayer composite that has flame retardancy and low smoking property as well as has high physical characteristics. The multilayer composite has a multilayer structure and includes at least one core layer and at least one skin layer, wherein the multilayer composite satisfies all the following conditions (A) to (D): (A) the core layer is a composite including discontinuous reinforcing fibers and a first thermoplastic resin, in which the discontinuous reinforcing fibers are randomly dispersed and bonded with the first thermoplastic resin at least at intersections of the discontinuous reinforcing fibers; (B) the skin layer is a composite including continuous reinforcing fibers and a second thermoplastic resin, in which the continuous reinforcing fibers are impregnated with the second thermoplastic resin; (C) each of the first and the second thermoplastic resins has a limiting oxygen index of 30 or higher; and (D) the first and the second thermoplastic resins are miscible with each other.
Apparatus for viscous hydrocarbon transportation
A vessel for transporting a material that is solid or semi-solid at ambient temperature, includes a body having an interior surface comprising textured metal, and a superoleophobic coating on the interior surface for inhibiting the material from adhering to the interior surface, the superoleophobic coating including a nanotextured coating disposed on the textured metal and functionalized with a fluorinated compound. The superoleophobic coating facilitates flow of the material along the interior surface.

Head module for a rail vehicle
The invention relates to a head module for a rail vehicle, said head module being suitable to be detachably fixed to the front face of a subsequent railcar unit without additional underframe. The head module consists of an inner and an outer shell and includes three systems which convert, in the event of a crash, the collision energy into a deformation one after the other or simultaneously and substantially independently of another.
REDUCED-WEIGHT WAGON COMPONENTS, METHODS FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND REDUCED-WEIGHT WAGON
The present invention relates to the field of materials science, applied to the body of a wagon for transporting loads, also including the systems of hoppers and hatches, if applicable, manufactured from composite materials that provide reduced weight in comparison to the similar conventional parts thereof manufactured from steel. The present invention also relates to the development of wagon bodies and the systems thereof such as hoppers and hatches, if applicable, which dispense with the need to use structural metal materials, contributing to the reduced weight thereof, providing lightness during operation and corrosion resistance, and to a specific design, which makes the lightweight material capable of withstanding the loads and forces to which the wagons are subjected during operation.
MOUNTING SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR INSTALLING AT LEAST ONE LINING ELEMENT IN A TRANSPORT VEHICLE, AND CORRESPONDING TRANSPORT VEHICLE
A mounting device includes a front part equipped with first connector for connecting directly to a liner suitable to be installed in a vehicle, or to an intermediate connection device connected to the liner, and a back part that extends from the front part, in the direction opposite the first connector, and includes second connector that are elastically deformable and are adapted to engage, in an adjustable position, along a support structure of the transport vehicle. The front part includes a first face that is substantially flat, onto which is fastened a first layer incorporating the first connector, and the back part comprises a first arm and a second arm, which extend from the two opposite ends of the first face and which converge toward one another.
