A non-stop train system including a plurality of train cars in communication with one another and in communication with an electronic control module. The train system includes a track or any number of parallel tracks having a plurality of drop off and pick up locations. A prepositioned train car is stopped at one of the drop off and pick up locations. A non-stop express train approaches and passes by the drop off and pick up location on the track initiating the prepositioned train car to begin departure. The electronic control module is used to adjust the speed of the non-stop express train and the prepositioned train car based on a detected distance such that a rear coupler of the non-stop express train couples to the front coupler of the prepositioned train car while moving along the track.

Seat occupancy monitor

A device for monitoring one or more passenger seats of a vehicle, the device comprising: at least one sensor configured to monitor an occupancy status for each of the one or more seats; and a communication interface configured to receive reservation conditions for each of the one or more seats; wherein the device is configured to: display an occupancy condition for each of the one or more seats and a reservation condition for each of the one or more seats; and determine the occupancy condition for each of the one or more seats based on the occupancy status for each of the one or more seats over a predefined time period.

Method for guiding passengers

A method in conjunction with a passenger guidance system guides a passenger to a passenger seat disposed in a vehicle. In order to guide a passenger quickly and reliably to a passenger seat which corresponds to his needs and is disposed in a vehicle, and to improve the flow of passengers, it is proposed to determine occupation states of passenger seats of the vehicle and to guide the passenger to an unoccupied passenger seat. For carrying out the method, a passenger guidance system is proposed which has at least one device for determining the occupation state of passenger seats arranged in a vehicle, at least one evaluation device which is configured to determine a destination to which a passenger is to be guided, and a transmission device by which data which are suitable for indicating a path to the destination can be transmitted to at least one display device.

The present invention may include receiving passenger information for passengers boarding a public transit system comprising one or more cars; counting the passengers within each of the cars of the public transit system based on the location of each of the passengers; identifying, based on the location of each of the passengers, whether each of the passengers is seated or standing; and displaying, based on the counting and identifying of the passengers, the current occupancy of each of the cars.
