A railway vehicle condition monitoring apparatus includes a detection device for detecting vehicle information represented by a wheel load or the like of a wheel included in a railway vehicle running on a railroad track, and a determination device including a classifier to which the vehicle information detected by the detection device is input and which outputs a vehicle condition such as the presence or absence of an abnormality of the railway vehicle. The classifier is generated by means of machine learning that uses training data of a railway vehicle of which the vehicle condition is known, the training data being the vehicle information and the vehicle condition which is known, the machine learning being performed so that when the vehicle information of the training data is input to the classifier, the classifier outputs the vehicle condition of the training data.

Systems and methods for determining wind velocity
In one embodiment, a system includes a vehicle, one or more probes coupled to the vehicle, and a controller. The vehicle is operable to traverse a distance. The one or more probes are operable to measure wind pressure and generate one or more wind pressure measurements. The controller is operable to receive the one or more wind pressure measurements from the one or more probes, determine a wind angle relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements, and determine a wind speed relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements and the wind angle.
Systems and methods for determining wind velocity
In one embodiment, a system includes a vehicle, one or more probes coupled to the vehicle, and a controller. The vehicle is operable to traverse a distance. The one or more probes are operable to measure wind pressure and generate one or more wind pressure measurements. The controller is operable to receive the one or more wind pressure measurements from the one or more probes, determine a wind angle relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements, and determine a wind speed relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements and the wind angle.

A system for maintaining a minimum clearance between a locomotive and a railway infrastructure is provided. The system includes at least one rollable and compressible device configured to be affixed or otherwise provided on a side of a locomotive or portion of a train. Each rollable and compressible device includes bi-directional rolling element and is configured to allow movement of the roller between a non-rolling state and a rolling state and between an uncompressed state and a predetermined maximum compressed state.

This position detection system is provided with: a distance measuring sensor that is attached to a vehicle traveling along a track and is capable of measuring a distance over a predetermined range in the track width direction; an edge position detecting unit that detects an edge position in the track width direction of the track on the basis of distance measurement data from the distance measuring sensor; and a distance calculation unit that calculates a distance in the track width direction between a reference position of the track that is specified from the edge position and a reference position of the vehicle to which the distance measuring sensor is attached.

The invention relates to a device for automatic dispensing of a maintenance agent, such as an anti-icing agent or a de-icing agent, on specific parts of a rolling stock travelling on a railway track. The device comprises a dispensing unit, a detection unit configured to generate a detection signal before said rolling stock reaches the dispensing unit, a sensor unit configured to determine position and velocity of the rolling stock, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to receive said detection signal from said detection unit, determine a dispensing schedule based on said rolling-stock velocity, and transmit a control signal to the dispensing unit to control said dispensing unit based on said dispensing schedule. Furthermore, the present inventive concept also relates to an associated method.

A fairground ride may include a support structure, at least one vehicle having a passenger receptacle, and at least one guideway which is attached to the support structure and forms a circuit, wherein the guideway is adapted to guide the vehicle along the circuit. The fairground ride may also include at least one drive member which is adapted to move the vehicle along the circuit; and at least one recovery apparatus, which has an operating range. The guideway may be disposed at least section-wise on a substantially vertical area, each point of the normal vector of which is perpendicular to the vertical axis of the support structure, and the operating range of the recovery apparatus may substantially cover the vertical area.

A third energy end includes an air-cooled heat pump unit. The user end includes air conditioner, hot water supply, underfloor heating, and radiator heating ends. The first, second and third energy ends connect to the hot water tank. A water outlet is connected to the air conditioner, hot water supply, underfloor heating, and radiator heating ends. Water outlets of the air conditioner, underfloor heating, and radiator heating ends are respectively connected to the first, second and third energy end through a return pipe.
