VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
A system includes a locator device and one or more processors operably connected to the locator device. The locator device determines a trailing distance between a trailing vehicle system that travels along a route and a leading vehicle system that travels along the route ahead of the trailing vehicle system in a same direction of travel. The one or more processors compare the trailing distance to a first proximity distance relative to the leading vehicle system. In response to the trailing distance being less than the first proximity distance, the one or more processors set a permitted power output limit for the trailing vehicle system to be less than a maximum achievable power output for the trailing vehicle system, the permitted power output limit being set based on a power-to-weight ratio of the leading vehicle system.
Facility inspection system and facility inspection method
A facility inspection system prevents a normal part from being detected as an abnormal part caused by a deviation in an alignment due to a presence/absence of a moving object in detecting the abnormal part in a surrounding environment of a vehicle moving on a track. The system includes a photographing device, storage device, separation unit, an alignment unit, and a extraction unit. The photographing device photographs the surrounding environment of the moving vehicle. The storage device stores a reference alignment point cloud and a reference difference-extraction point cloud for each position on the track. The separation unit separates the alignment point cloud from a three-dimensional point cloud. The alignment unit aligns the reference alignment point cloud and the alignment point cloud and outputs alignment information. The extraction unit extracts a difference between the three-dimensional point cloud deformed based on the alignment information and the reference difference-extraction point cloud.

ANNOUNCE APPARATUS, ANNOUNCE CONTROL APPARATUS, ANNOUNCE SYSTEM, ANNOUNCE METHOD AND PROGRAM
An announce apparatus comprises an analysis part that obtains a capture image capturing at least any one of an area including a boarding position at a station or inside of a vehicle so as to determine, based on the capture image, whether a person who needs support (termed hereinafter as “support-needing user”) will board on/off the vehicle; and an announce part that announces boarding on/off support information relating to the support-needing user when the analysis part determines that the support-needing user will board on/off the vehicle.
Vehicle
A vehicle includes one or more travel portions each configured to travel along a rail track, a travel controller configured to perform an image recognition to determine a shape of a portion of the rail track based on an image captured by an imaging device supported by the vehicle and to control the one or more travel portions based on a result of the image recognition, an information obtaining portion configured to obtain position information of each of a plurality of locations that the vehicle travels past as a result of traveling along the rail track, and to obtain the order in which the vehicle travels past such plurality of locations, and memory configured to store information obtained by the information obtaining portion.

TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
A high-speed transportation system, the system including at least one transportation path having at least one track, at least one transportation vehicle configured for travel along the at least one transportation path, a propulsion system adapted to propel the at least one transportation vehicle along the at least one transportation path; and a levitation system adapted to levitate the transportation vehicle along the at least one transportation path. The at least one transportation vehicle additionally comprises wheels for at least intermittently supporting the transportation vehicle on the at least one track.
Vehicle control system
A locomotive control system includes a controller configured to control communication between or among plural locomotive devices that control movement of a locomotive via a network that communicatively couples the vehicle devices. The controller also is configured to control the communication using a data distribution service (DDS) and with the network operating as a time sensitive network (TSN). The controller is configured to direct a first set of the locomotive devices to communicate using time sensitive communications, a different, second set of the locomotive devices to communicate using best effort communications, and a different, third set of the locomotive devices to communicate using rate constrained communications.
Edge weather abatement using hyperlocal weather and train activity inputs
Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for controlling remote equipment in a network. A switch heater control system includes a weather modeling function. The system periodically obtains weather data according to a predetermined time interval. Based on the closest weather data set, the weather modeling function generates a hyperlocal forecast associated with each switch heater location. The system includes an active snowfall mode and a maintenance mode that controls heating based on an estimate of local snow depth, adjusted for wind conditions and passing trains. When the hyperlocal forecast indicates heating is required, the system calculates a melt duration, starts a timer, and transmits a start signal to the switch heater.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL DEFICIENCIES IN RAILWAY ENVIRONMENT OBJECTS
In one embodiment, a method includes capturing, by a machine vision device, an image of an object in a railway environment. The machine vision device is attached to a first train car that is moving in a first direction along a first railroad track of the railway environment. The method also includes analyzing, by the machine vision device, the image of the object using one or more machine vision algorithms to determine a value associated with the object. The method further includes determining, by the machine vision device, that the value associated with the object indicates a potential deficiency of the object and communicating, by the machine vision device, an alert to a component external to the first train car. The alert comprises an indication of the potential deficiency of the object.
