SYSTEM FOR MONITORING OPERATION OF A LOCOMOTIVE
A system for monitoring operation of a locomotive includes a plurality of cameras, a controller, and at least one graphical user interface (GUI). The cameras are strategically mounted to the locomotive such that each camera is configured to capture a video stream of an environment associated with the locomotive. The controller is remotely disposed from and communicably coupled to each of the cameras over a wireless network. The controller is configured to receive a plurality of video streams from the plurality of cameras. The graphical user interface (GUI) is communicably coupled to the controller. The GUI is configured to display the plurality of video streams received at the controller. In embodiments disclosed herein, the controller is operable for modulating various operating parameters of the locomotive based on the environment associated with the locomotive, as determined from one or more video streams transmitted by the cameras.
Track collision avoidance control system
A track collision avoidance control system including a train having an onboard control system for controlling one or more characteristics of the train. The track collision avoidance control system can further include a warning indication system comprising a transmitter linked to a communication system supported about the train, the communication system comprising a receiver operable to receive a signal from the transmitter, the signal comprising information pertaining to a potentially dangerous condition. The transmitter can be operable alone or in combination with a warning indicator, an actuator and their associated logic circuitry, such that the transmitter is caused to transmit upon the warning indicator being activated. The communication system can interface with an onboard control system of the train. The communication system can receive the signal, which can be used to facilitate an avoidance action to be taken relative to the train.
Vehicle control system
A control system is provided that may include a first sensor configured to detect a vehicle system. The control system may also include one or more processors in communication with the first sensor. The one or more processors may be configured to receive communication related to entry of the vehicle system into an area, and operate the first sensor to begin monitoring the vehicle system in response to entry of vehicle system into the area. The one or more processors may also be configured to record movement data related to the vehicle system, and determine movement of the vehicle system within the area based on the movement data.
Magnetic displacement measurement unit, transporting device and method
The present disclosure relates to displacement measurements using magnetic displacement measurement units. In various embodiments, the disclosed displacement measurement unit is configured to determine a displacement position of a vehicle along a guideway. In various embodiments, the displacement measurement unit includes a set of locator devices that are distributed at fixed displacement positions along the guideway, where a given locator device includes a magnetic element configured to produce a corresponding magnetic field. Further, in various embodiments, the displacement measurement unit includes a position sensor that is attached to the vehicle, where the position sensor is configured to detect a magnetic field produced one or more of the locator devices when the position sensor is brought within a detection range of one or more locator devices.
Magnetic displacement measurement unit, transporting device and method
The present disclosure relates to displacement measurements using magnetic displacement measurement units. In various embodiments, the disclosed displacement measurement unit is configured to determine a displacement position of a vehicle along a guideway. In various embodiments, the displacement measurement unit includes a set of locator devices that are distributed at fixed displacement positions along the guideway, where a given locator device includes a magnetic element configured to produce a corresponding magnetic field. Further, in various embodiments, the displacement measurement unit includes a position sensor that is attached to the vehicle, where the position sensor is configured to detect a magnetic field produced one or more of the locator devices when the position sensor is brought within a detection range of one or more locator devices.
