With first and second wagons (1, 3), including an emitter similar to the one of an access point and a receiving wagon (2), including a receiver similar to the one of a device onboard a train and measuring a quantity relating to a received signal, this method consists of: placing the first wagon at a previous implantation point while the emitter of the first wagon emits a first signal, moving the receiving wagon away from the first wagon; when the quantity relating to the first signal is under a threshold, immobilizing the receiving wagon; while the emitter of the second wagon emits a second signal, moving the second wagon away from the receiving wagon; when the quantity relating to the second signal is under the threshold, immobilizing the second wagon; and storing its position as the implantation point of an access point.

Rail vehicle signal enforcement and separation control

A system for vehicle management includes a control signal interface subsystem and a vehicle-mounted subsystem. Each of these subsystems includes an ultra-wideband (UWB) communications component. The subsystems communicate with each other through the UWB components. The vehicle mounted subsystem interfaces with a braking system of the vehicle. The vehicle mounted subsystem determines the distance between it and the control signal interface subsystem based on the time-of-flight of at least one communication between the subsystems. The vehicle-mounted subsystem can cause the braking system of the vehicle to activate if the distance between the vehicle-mounted subsystem and the control signal interface subsystem is less than a threshold.

Systems and methods for vehicle control

A system configured to be disposed onboard a vehicle includes a communication unit and a processing unit. The communication unit is configured to obtain first trip information including first location-based operational information. The first trip information includes commands for a positive train control (PTC) system. The communication unit is also configured to obtain second trip information including second location-based operational information. The second trip information includes trip profile information for performing a mission by the vehicle. The processing unit is configured to obtain the first trip information and the second trip information from the communication unit, and to determine combined trip information using the first trip information and the second trip information. The processing unit is also configured to develop control information using the combined trip information.

METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING PASSENGER COMFORT IN A RAILWAY VEHICLE
20170225697 · 2017-08-10 ·

The vehicle including an active suspension system (22) parameterized by a set of adjustment parameters. The railway track is cut into segments. For each segment (T), the method includes campaigns for optimization of the set of parameters, such that: during the first campaign, to each passage of the suspension system (22) on the segment (T), a first set of parameters, specific to this passage, is predefined and applied to the suspension system (22), and a comfort quality index is calculated, and then a metaheuristic algorithm is applied for determining second sets of parameters, and during each following optimization campaign, at each passage of the suspension system over the segment, one of the determined sets of parameters by the previous optimization campaign is applied to the suspension system, and the comfort quality index is calculated, and then the metaheuristic algorithm is applied in order to determine new sets of parameters.

Boarding and alighting system and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium

Provided is a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium in which an information providing program is stored for causing a computer to control a mobile terminal, the information providing program causing the computer to operate as: an area information acquiring circuit acquiring area information continuously transmitted from an information transmission device which is arranged in public transportation and available only in the train, an arrival station identification information acquiring circuit acquiring arrival station identification information transmitted from the information transmission device within a specified period, an arrival station identification information comparing circuit comparing the arrival station identification information with the destination station identification information, a boarding and alighting guidance control circuit notifying that the train is approaching the detraining station when a comparison result obtained by the arrival station identification information comparing circuit is matched with each other.

INTERLOCKING DEVICE

An interlocking device performs route control for trains based on: first operation diagram information as train operation diagram information on a train which runs between stations; second operation diagram information as train operation diagram information on a train which moves in a station yard; and on-track position information on the trains. The interlocking device performs control with time on a signal and/or a switch on a route of a train based on different information according to whether a predetermined condition is satisfied.

Modular railroad track simulator

A system for simulating a railroad track. The system comprises one or more modular track simulation units that are smaller than conventional track simulators and are easy to use with and be connected to a device being tested (e.g., grade crossing predictor). Each track simulation unit may have one of a plurality of impedances associated with a corresponding railroad track length. The units are combinable such that the system can simulate multiple, different track lengths. Each unit has a plurality of test points that can be connected to the device under test and/or used to alter conditions of the simulated track.

Railroad Locomotive Monitoring System Configuration System and Method

A railroad locomotive monitoring system configuration system for a plurality of trains comprising: a monitoring system, and an on-board computer programmed or configured to: determine or receive railroad locomotive data; determine or receive railroad operation data; determine or receive configuration data; and based at least partially on at least a portion of the railroad locomotive data, at least a portion of the railroad operation data, and at least a portion of the configuration data, automatically configure at least one setting of the at least one component of the monitoring system.

Energy-saving mode for a rail system signaling system

In order to save energy, it is proposed that parts of a signaling system be switched off, for example, by an operating system. The computers to be switched off store data which are relevant to railway safety, preferably on a central storage medium, for example, an NAS hard drive. When they have been reactivated, the computers read the safety-relevant data and operation can continue. This solution also enables computers which work with data relevant to railway safety to be switched to an energy-saving mode without endangering the safety of the railway.
