A vehicle control system includes: a terminal configured to be carried by a user; and a control device configured to execute a remote autonomous moving process to move a vehicle from an initial position to a prescribed stop position based on an input from the terminal and to stop the vehicle at the stop position. The remote autonomous moving process proceeds on condition of continuation of a reciprocating operation on the terminal by the user, and has a plurality of modes in which a vehicle speed to move the vehicle is set to values different from each other. The control device or the terminal is configured to select one of the plurality of modes based on a speed of the reciprocating operation.

A vehicle control apparatus comprises a radio receiver and a control unit. The radio receiver receives a terminal signal from a first terminal that a user located outside the vehicle carry. The control unit performs a remote operation control to move the vehicle in accordance with a remote operation to the first terminal. The control unit is configured to: perform the remote operation control in accordance with the remote operation, when a signal condition including a condition that the terminal signal is received is satisfied; and in a case in which the signal condition becomes unsatisfied while performing the remote operation control, continue performing the remote operation control when an unsatisfied state in which the signal condition is not satisfied has not yet continued for a predetermined extension time, and stop performing the remote operation control when the unsatisfied state has continued for the extension time.

The HMI quick switch system may present two or more user interfaces as alternative options that may allow the user to command a vehicle to perform remote parking assist functions using a securely connected (tethered) mobile device connecting to the vehicle and providing indication of active user engagement with the remote parking assist operations. The HMI quick switch system evaluates user engagement using a complex gesture and video input using the mobile device sensors. By providing an intuitive fast switching interface, a user may provide greater attention to the vehicle and task at hand without undue focus on complex interface actions.

A vehicle control system includes: a control device mounted on a vehicle and configured to execute remote automatic moving processing; an operation terminal configured to be carried by a user and to transmit a control signal to the control device based on an input by the user; and a position determination unit mounted on the vehicle and/or the operation terminal and configured to measure a distance between the operation terminal and the vehicle. When the control device determines that the distance exceeds a first threshold based on a signal from the position determination unit, the control device stops the vehicle and transmits an output signal to the operation terminal, the output signal being a signal to cause the operation terminal to output a fact that the distance exceeds the first threshold.
