A method of estimating hydraulic flow in a steering system of an articulated vehicle, a controller configured for the method and an articulated vehicle are provided. The method comprises: a) sensing a yaw rate of the articulated vehicle; b) sensing a velocity of the articulated vehicle; c) determining an estimate of a steering angle rate of the front part of the articulated vehicle using the sensed yaw rate and the sensed velocity; d) determining an estimate of the hydraulic flow in the steering system of the articulated vehicle using the estimate of the steering angle rate and one or more geometrical parameters of the steering system.

Wheel lean automation system and method for self-propelled work vehicles

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for automatically controlling wheel lean in a work vehicle (e.g., a motor grader) comprising a front portion with an axle and a plurality of traction wheels configured to lean at a wheel-lean angle relative thereto. Based on output signals from one or more sensors mounted on the work vehicle, work conditions are detected comprising an actual wheel-lean angle of at least one wheel relative to the axle, an oscillation angle of the axle, and a slope of the terrain. In automatic control operations, wheel lean is automatically directed to a predetermined orientation (e.g., corresponding to a direction of gravity), based at least on detected work conditions. Wheel lean may further be automatically directed based on detected steering inputs for positioning of the traction wheels and a detected articulation angle for positioning of the front portion of the work vehicle relative to the rear portion.

STEERING DEVICE AND WORK MACHINE

A wheel loader includes a vehicle body frame, a transmission mechanism, a support section, a movable section, a joystick lever, and an urging mechanism. The transmission mechanism transmits a movement of the vehicle body frame. The support section is fixed with respect to the vehicle body frame. The movable section is connected to the transmission mechanism and is movably supported by the support section. The movement of the vehicle body frame is input to the movable section. The joystick lever accepts an operation to move with respect to the movable section by the operation. The urging mechanism adjusts a movement of the movable section with respect to the support section.
