Steering system and vehicle equipped with same

The steering system includes: a first steering device to-steer left and right wheels in a mechanically associated manner by changing an angle of left and right chassis frame components; and a second steering device to drive a supplementary turning actuator to change angles of the wheels relative to the chassis frame components. The second steering device includes a supplementary turning control section to perform a control to cause turning by a steering angle that is a difference between a steering angle determined by a numerical model of vehicle motion on the basis of the steering command angle and the vehicle velocity and an actual steering angle.

Chassis suspension component with eccentric disc stop and method for producing a chassis suspension component
11285769 · 2022-03-29 · ·

The invention relates to a chassis suspension component with a bracket made from a formable base material, preferably sheet steel, and comprising at least one slot for receiving a connecting bolt and at least one stop for an eccentric disc which is or can be connected rotationally fixedly to the connecting bolt. In order to be able to produce the eccentric stop process-reliably and economically without the risk of crack formation, the invention proposes to provide a tab formed from the base material and folded relative to a body portion of the suspension component and having a recess surrounding the slot, which recess defines two elongate stop faces running parallel to each other, wherein the stop faces serve as a stop for the eccentric disc. The invention also relates to a method for producing a chassis suspension component.

REINFORCEMENT AND PROTECTION BRACES FOR MOUNTING STRUCTURES OF VEHICLE STERERING KNUKLE LOWER CONTROL ARMS
20210323608 · 2021-10-21 · ·

The present invention provides reinforcing braces that may be attached to the factory-supplied chassis mounts for the lower control arms of the steering knuckles of vehicles to reinforce and shield the mounts from objects below the vehicle that may be encountered when traveling through rugged terrain. The braces of the present invention are designed for the front and rear control arm mounts, each brace including a pair of parallel sturdy metal flanges that are generally perpendicularly attached to a sturdy metal lower base plate. Each flange is designed to be attached to one of the flanges of the factory-supplied chassis mounts, and has an opening therein for receiving mounting hardware and strengthening of the camber adjustment structures. The sturdy metal lower base plates may extend out and away from the flanges of the brackets to provide a lower shield to protect the chassis and mounting hardware from damage that may occur from contact with large objects that may be encountered below the vehicle. The front base plate may include an elongated section that extends toward the front of the vehicle to provide a shield for deflecting large objects as the vehicle moves forward.

Method for toe variable control of a rear wheel steering system

A toe variable control method includes a toe linearization mapping control in which a toe control is switched from a constant control amount to a variable control amount in a rear wheel steering system by bump/rebound speeds of a bump and a rebound becoming a variable when the bump and rebound of a wheel are detected by a controller.
