Subframe assembly for a vehicle utilizing scaleable multi-cell extruded siderail members
A siderail member for a subframe assembly of a vehicle, including: an elongate body, wherein the elongate body includes a hollow extruded structure including an inboard wall, an outboard wall, a top wall, a bottom wall, and one or more internal walls. Optionally, the bottom wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the top wall. Optionally, the outboard wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the inboard wall. Optionally, the one or more internal walls include a top internal wall and a bottom internal wall forming a plurality of horizontally-disposed cells within an interior of the elongate body. The bottom internal wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the top internal wall. The hollow extruded structure is manufactured from an aluminum material. Optionally, the top wall of the hollow extruded structure defines a flexure recess.
VEHICLE FLOOR AND CORRESPONDING PRODUCTION METHOD
A hot stamping vehicle floor (1) for a vehicle frame (100) includes a main floor panel (2) stamped out from at least one sheet metal blank. The floor further includes at least one sheet metal reinforcing patch (4), arranged on the main floor panel (2), overlapping the main floor panel (2). The reinforcing patch (4) is more ductile than the main floor panel (2). The at least one reinforcing patch (4) is joined to at least one area (6) of the main floor panel (2) conceived to withstand compressive crash forces in case of a crash situation of the vehicle and the main floor panel (2) and the at least one reinforcing patch (4) are joined to each other before said vehicle floor (1) is stamped out. The invention also refers to a method for producing the vehicle floor.
Method for Introducing a Media Outlet Into a Hollow Profiled Section and Method for Providing a Hollow Profiled Section
The invention relates to a method for introducing a media outlet (6) into a hollow profiled section (1), in which method a first media outlet passage (7), via which a medium can flow out of a cavity (2) in the hollow profiled section (1), is introduced by means of a first tool into an outer wall (5) of the hollow profiled section (1), and in which method a second tool is introduced into the cavity (2) in the hollow profiled section (1) via the first media outlet passage (7), and by means of said second tool at least one second media outlet passage (8) is introduced into an inner profiled section web (4) of the hollow profiled section (1). The invention further relates to a method for providing a hollow profiled section (1), in which the hollow profiled section (1) is extruded and a media passage (6) is introduced into the hollow profiled section (1) in a method according to any of the preceding claims, a geometry of the profiled section web (4) being selected depending on a position of the first media outlet passage (7) and the hollow profiled section (1) being extruded with the selected geometry of the profiled section web (4).
