VARIABLE STEM FOR HUMAN-POWERED VEHICLE
20200148298 · 2020-05-14 ·

A variable stem for a human-powered vehicle basically includes a head tube mount, a handlebar mount, a stem body, a positioning structure and a controller. The stem body couples the handlebar mount to the head tube mount. The stem body is configured to be moved between a first position and a second position. The handlebar mount is disposed at a different location with respect to the head tube mount with the stem body in the first position as compared to the stem body being in the second position. The positioning structure is configured to selectively position the stem body between a first position and a second position. The controller is configured to control the positioning structure while the human-powered vehicle is in a driving state.

Charge system and charge method

A charge system and a charge method adapted to a bicycle are provided. The charge system includes a hub dynamo, a power apparatus, a sensor and a control apparatus. The control apparatus is coupled to the hub dynamo, the power apparatus and the sensor. The sensor is adapted to sense a riding condition of the bicycle. According to the riding condition, the control apparatus selects a power supply pattern of the hub dynamo. When the power supply pattern is selected to be a stop pattern, a connection loop between the hub dynamo and the power apparatus is turned off by the control apparatus. When the power supply pattern is selected to a first pattern, the connection loop between the hub dynamo and the power apparatus is turned on by the control apparatus, such that the hub dynamo supplies power to the power apparatus at a first rate.

Devices, systems and methods for providing rider control assemblies for adjusting and displaying pressure and height settings for vehicle air suspension devices, such as on adjustable air shocks and air struts, used in vehicles such as motorcycles. The assemblies can have a protruding eyelet portion that can be mounted to existing control panel clamps on motorcycle handlebars. The assemblies can have two part housings attached to one another by waterproof gaskets placed in opposite facing channels.

CREATING EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND INDICATIONS OF A VEHICLE STATE

Presented here is a system and method for creating easy-to-understand notifications of the vehicle state. The notification can be visual or can be auditory and can indicate to the user the vehicle state even when the user's attention is directed elsewhere. The indication can serve to attract the user's attention before more involved information is presented to the user, such as text, or the indication can serve to communicate to the user the vehicle state in an easy-to-understand way such as using color-coded displays or audio indications. The intensity of the indication can be adjusted based on the likelihood that indication will be perceived by the user by, for example, measuring ambient light and/or ambient noise. Reducing the intensity of the indication conserves energy of an energy source associated with the vehicle.

Deceleration-Triggered Automatic Brake Indication

Automatic deceleration indication involves a deceleration sensor unit that senses deceleration and a microprocessor that causes deceleration warning light illumination when a sensed deceleration exceeds a threshold value. The deceleration sensor unit may include a solid state accelerometer acting as a deceleration sensor, a GPS module acting as a deceleration sensor, or both. The deceleration warning light my be a brake light, a separate warning light attached to a vehicle, or worn by an operator or passenger of bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle.

Electrically power assisted bicycle with ambient light controlled headlight

An electrically power assisted bicycle includes an electric motor that generates an assist force assisting human power of a rider, a detachable battery that supplies electric power to the electric motor, a headlight, and an operation panel including a display that displays information, a power button that turns on or off the electrically power assisted bicycle, an illuminance sensor that outputs a signal in accordance with received light, and a controller configured or programmed to control the headlight to be on or off. The power button and the illuminance sensor are located close to each other on or in the operation panel. After a predetermined time period passes after the controller is activated by the power button being pressed by the rider, the controller starts controlling the headlight to be on or off in accordance with the signal output by the illuminance sensor.
