SWING SCOOTER WITH MOVABLE FOOT PLATFORMS
In an aspect there is provided a swing scooter, comprising a frame, a steering member, a front wheel, at least two support legs, and at least two platforms. A rear wheel support is pivotally attached each support leg. A rear wheel is rotatably attached to each rear wheel support. Each platform is movably attached to an associated support leg, and positioned for supporting a foot of a user. Each platform has a longitudinal platform axis and is movable between a first position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a first lateral side of the swing scooter, and a second position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a second lateral side of the swing scooter. The platform is movable to the first and second positions by movement of the foot of the user.

A variety of scooters are disclosed. In some embodiments, a scooter can include a pivot assembly that allows the scooter to move between a folded and unfolded configuration. The pivot assembly can include a knob that frees a pin from a bracket to allow the scooter to fold. Turing the knob increases compressive forces on elements of the pivot assembly to reduce rattling noise and wobbling movement when the scooter is in use. Some embodiments of the scooter can include a center stand that can be deployed from either side of the scooter deck to stabilize the scooter when the scooter is stationary. Certain embodiments have an ergonomic handgrip.

The device provides an energy return mechanism associated with flexing and straightening of the scooter rider's support leg. The device includes an energy return mechanism having an end connected to the scooter such that resilient force exerted by the mechanism is longitudinally aligned with the scooter to act in a generally rearward/upward direction. A free end of the mechanism cradles the front of the rider's support leg, just below the knee. When the rider flexes the support leg, the resilient mechanism distorts in a longitudinal direction. When the rider straightens the leg, the forces stored in the resilient mechanism supplement the force of the rider's muscles. Thus, the device reduces the amount of energy used by the rider. The mechanism can be configured as an accessory to a conventional scooter or be integrated into a scooter. Certain embodiments are foldable and compatible with the foldable scooters.

Various embodiments of transportation devices that have at least two axes of rotation and employ ride balance based drive control are disclosed. One embodiment is a scooter type device with a platform structure movable in fore-aft. The drive motor may be provided at the platform section or drive wheel or be otherwise located. Other embodiments include inline wheeled board embodiments. Yet other embodiments include those utilizing a continuous track. A system for a bicycle includes a plurality of controller devices. A type of controller device is the same for two or more controller devices of the plurality of controller devices. The system includes a pairing coordinator device configured to receive a respective device type identification from each controller device, and identify the type of controller device for the two or more controller devices based on the received device type identifications for the two or more controller devices. Based on the identification of the type of controller device, the pairing coordinator device is configured to update the device type identifications for the two or more controller devices, respectively, such that the updated device type identifications are different than each other. The pairing coordinator device is configured to pair only controller devices of the plurality of controller devices having different respective device type identifications with the pairing coordinator device.

A system for a bicycle includes a plurality of controller devices. A type of controller device is the same for two or more controller devices of the plurality of controller devices. The system includes a pairing coordinator device configured to receive a respective device type identification from each controller device, and identify the type of controller device for the two or more controller devices based on the received device type identifications for the two or more controller devices. Based on the identification of the type of controller device, the pairing coordinator device is configured to update the device type identifications for the two or more controller devices, respectively, such that the updated device type identifications are different than each other. The pairing coordinator device is configured to pair only controller devices of the plurality of controller devices having different respective device type identifications with the pairing coordinator device.

Certain implementations include a method including: comparing: i) detected movement of a micromobility (MM) vehicle or a device located with a user at the MM vehicle while operating the MM vehicle, with ii) a surface detection classifier for the MM vehicle; and in response to detecting that the MM vehicle is traveling on a restricted surface type for a threshold period, performing at least one of: a) notifying an operator of the MM vehicle about the travel on the restricted surface type, b) outputting a warning at an interface connected with the MM vehicle or the device, c) limiting a speed of the MM vehicle, or d) disabling operation of the MM vehicle.
