20200003293 · 2020-01-02 ·

A drive system for a vehicle includes a chain ring and a drive chain. The chain ring has a plurality of teeth serially arranged and joined to one another. A first subset of teeth has a first outer face that applies a lateral pressure to a link of a drive chain in a first direction. A second subset of teeth has a second outer face that applies a lateral pressure to another link of a drive chain in a second direction. The teeth all have substantially the same width. The top surfaces of the teeth are offset from the centerline of the drive chain. The centerlines of the top surfaces of the teeth are arranged asymmetrically on one side of the centerline of the drive chain.

Ebike battery mount

A bicycle comprises a wheel, a frame supported on the wheel and including a tube hole, a motor mounted to the frame, a battery including battery hole extending completely through the battery, and a battery mounting pin extending through the battery hole and tube hole to secure the battery to the frame. In one embodiment, the tube includes spaced-apart first and second walls, with the tube hole through the first wall and a threaded hole through the second wall and aligned with the tube hole. Preferably, the battery mounting pin includes a threaded end, and the battery mounting pin is positioned through the tube hole and through the battery hole with the threaded end threaded into the threaded hole. The invention is also embodied in a method of mounting a battery to an ebike including the steps of aligning the battery hole with the tube hole and inserting a battery mounting pin through the tube hole and completely through the battery hole.

Sprocket wheel for a bicycle drive

An individual chain wheel for a bicycle front crank arrangement for engaging in a drive chain includes a plurality of teeth formed on a circumference of the chain wheel and having a first and a second group of teeth. The teeth of the second group of teeth are arranged in an alternating manner between the teeth of the first group of teeth. Each tooth has a load flank via which force is transmitted between an adjacent roller of the drive chain and the respective tooth. Each tooth of the first group may also have at least one profile with an opening in the vicinity of the flank, in which a portion of an inner link plate of the drive chain, which portion protrudes beyond the roller, engages.

The present invention is a removable device/mechanism which is installed onto a bicycle. The installed device assists a user in pedaling in a unique fashion which removes the stresses and forces of ordinary cycling. The movement of the pedals becomes such that force is caused only during half of the circumferential movement of each pedal, similar to a step/climbing machine. The movement is achieved by placing two shafts which move alongside planes parallel to the user during motion, the two shafts being interconnected at their top and bottom ends. The bottom ends are connected to the gears and chain of the bicycle as described herein. The top ends are connected to a reverse mechanism as described herein. The combination of elements assists the user by turning an ordinary bicycle into a more relaxed use machine, allowing more people to use bicycles.

BICYCLE DRIVE TRAIN

A multi-wheel bicycle with a dual universal joint disposed on a bicycle frame, wherein a first end of the universal joint is mounted to the bicycle frame and a second end of the universal joint is mounted on a moveable end of a bicycle steering fork. A front drive chain is couple from the universal joint to a front tire disposed on a free-wheeling front hub, and a second drive chain is coupled from the first end to a drive sprocket. The drive sprocket is further coupled to a free-wheeling hub attached to a front tire. The coupling provides for transfer of rotational power from the drive sprocket to the front and rear tires through the dual universal joint even as the universal is flexed through its range of motion while steering the bicycle.
