Devices for retaining a bicycle chain on a sprocket

A device for retaining a bicycle chain on a sprocket includes a base plate defining a plurality of fastener openings centered on an origin. A center of each of the plurality of fastener openings is disposed at a first radial distance from the origin. The origin defines an axis extending substantially orthogonally from a plane defined by two lines extending from the origin and at least two centers of the centers of the plurality of fastener openings. A first guard is secured to the base plate and includes a first guard retaining surface including a first curved surface defined by a second radial distance from the axis that is greater than the first radial distance and a first guard guiding surface having a first end adjacent the first guard retaining surface and a second end distal from the first end. The first end is disposed at the second radial distance from the axis. The second end is disposed at a third radial distance from the axis. The third radial distance is greater than the second radial distance. A second guard is secured to the base plate and includes a second guard retaining surface including a second curved surface defined by the second radial distance from the axis. A second guard guiding surface has a first end adjacent the second guard retaining surface and a second end distal from the first end. The first end is disposed at the second radial distance from the axis. The second end is disposed at a fourth radial distance from the axis. The fourth radial distance is greater than the second radial distance.

Frame for an electric cargo bicycle

A frame for an electric bicycle, such as a long-tail electric cargo bicycle, is described. The bike frame, in some embodiments, includes cross members that connect a rear rack of the bicycle to a head tube of the bicycle via a seat tube of the bicycle. Via the multiple connection points, the cross members mitigate side to side movement, such as waggling, of the rear rack of the bicycle.

A drive chain includes a plurality of outer plates, inner plates and pins. Each outer plate has two outer pivoting holes and two first protruding surfaces. A virtual line connecting the centers of the outer pivoting holes of each outer plate is defined as a first major axis. Each inner plate has two inner pivoting ends and a first protruding portion. A virtual line connecting the centers of the two inner pivoting holes of each inner plate is defined as a second major axis. The first protruding portion has a second protruding surface. Each pin is threaded through two inner plates and two outer plates. An included angle is formed between the first and second major axes. The first protruding surface contacts and overlaps the second protruding surface to form an overlapping region whose area decreases as the included angle decreases.

Bicycle tensioner apparatus and bicycle tensioner

A bicycle tensioner apparatus comprises a first base member, a second base member, and a tensioner. The second base member is movably coupled to the first base member. The tensioner is configured to contact a driving-force transmitting member to apply tension to the driving-force transmitting member. The tensioner is coupled to both the first base member and the second base member. The tensioner is movable relative to at least one of the first base member and the second base member in response to a relative movement between the first base member and the second base member.
