Ballast water treatment and neutralization
11724790 · 2023-08-15 · ·

Techniques and systems for neutralizing discharge waters from ballast and/or cooling water biocidal treatment and disinfection systems are provided. The systems utilize oxidation reduction potential control to regulate the dechlorination of a biocidal agent to allowable discharge levels in ship buoyancy systems and ship cooling water systems.

SYSTEM FOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING WATERCRAFT
20230249573 · 2023-08-10 ·

A control system for a watercraft includes a device system, a communication device, a controller, a first battery, and an electric power receiver. The communication device performs wireless communication with a server. The first battery provides electric power to the communication device. The electric power receiver is installed in the watercraft, connected to the first battery, and operable to receive shore power. The controller is configured or programmed to send device data to the server in a normal electric power mode when the first battery is connected to the shore power. The controller is configured or programmed to send the device data to the server in a low electric power mode when a low electric power condition, including a condition that the first battery is not connected to the shore power, is satisfied. The controller is configured or programmed to reduce data traffic of the device data to be sent to the server in the low electric power mode compared to when in the normal electric power mode.

Ballast seal

A ballast seal for a sealing ring includes: a substantially annular potential equalization ring made of an electrically-conductive material and which can be brought into contact in a sealing manner with a surface to be sealed of a machine element to be sealed; and at least one shielding ring made of a soft magnetic material so as to shield against electromagnetic interfering waves.

FAIL-SAFE SEALING SYSTEMS FOR WATERCRAFT INCLUDING SELF-BAILING DRAIN PLUGS AND SEALING CAPS SECURABLE TO THE OUTBOARD SIDE OF THE SELF-BAILING DRAIN PLUGS
20230312056 · 2023-10-05 ·

A fail-safe sealing system for a watercraft includes a self-bailing drain plug having an outer wall with a proximal end having a proximal opening, a distal end having a distal opening, and a fluid conduit that extends from the proximal opening to the distal opening. The sealing system includes a check valve including a ball disposed within the fluid conduit and being surrounded by the outer wall, and a ball retaining pin extending between opposite lateral sides of the outer wall adjacent the proximal opening for preventing the ball from passing through the proximal opening. The sealing system includes a sealing cap having a bayonet-style locking assembly that locks onto the ball retaining pin for securing the sealing cap to the proximal end of the outer wall for forming a water-tight seal with the proximal end of the outer wall of the self-bailing drain plug.
