Boat
A boat includes a hull, a deck, and a bow hatch. An engine compartment is provided in the hull. The deck is mounted on an upper portion of the hull. The deck includes an air inlet port that opens rearward to supply air to the engine compartment. The bow hatch is attached to the deck. The bow hatch includes a wall that faces the air inlet port.

Apparatuses and methods for pumps, pump adapters, and pump assemblies
A pump intake adapter for pumping shallow levels of fluid from a surface to be drained, the pump intake adapter including a connection on the pump intake adapter to convey the fluid away from the pump intake adapter; an intake surface on the pump intake adapter; and a portion of the intake surface of the pump intake adapter that in operation does not contact the surface to be drained, and creates an open conduit between the pump intake adapter and the surface to be drained through which fluid may flow, the open conduit being in fluid communication with the connection on the pump intake adapter. Other systems and methods are provided.

Boating safety device
A boat safety device includes a base portion that has a boat plug retaining cavity. The boat plug retaining cavity is sized for accepting and holding a boat drain plug and is optionally threaded to match threads of the boat drain plug. A key hole goes through a wall of the base portion and is sized to accept a boat key. The key hole is interfaced with the boat plug retaining cavity such that when a key is inserted fully into the key hole, teeth of the key extend into the boat plug retaining cavity so that, after installing the boat drain plug into the boat plug retaining cavity, the key is held in the key hole until the boat drain plug is later removed from the boat plug retaining cavity. Optionally, a key guard is provided to reduce chances of bending the boat key.

Scupper valve
A scupper valve includes a frame and a rigid flapper coupled to the frame. The rigid flapper is configured to swing relative to the rigid frame between an open and closed position. A flexible annular seal defines a centrally-disposed circular opening and a first annular projection that surrounds the centrally-disposed opening. The rigid flapper, in the closed position, contacts a distal edge of the first annular projection to create a circular line contact that restricts or prevents fluid flow through the centrally-disposed circular opening in the flexible annular seal. A rigid annular backplate is adjacent to and in direct physical contact with an annular surface of the flexible seal on a side of the flexible seal opposite the rigid flapper.

DRAIN PLUG FOR A BOAT
A boat including a hull, a drain formed in the hull, and a plug engageable with the drain. The drain fluidly connecting a cavity formed in the hull to an exterior of the hull. The plug including threads engageable with threads of the drain. The plug is (i) moveable in a tightening direction to engage the threads of the plug with the threads of the drain and close the drain and (ii) moveable in a loosening direction to disengage the threads of the plug from the threads of the drain and open the drain. The plug also includes a handle having a receiver. The receiver having at least one disengaging surface configured to disengage a tool when the tool turns in the tightening direction and at least one engaging surface configured to allow the tool to loosen the plug when the tool turns in the loosening direction.
