BOW STEP AND SEAT BACK FOR INFLATABLE BOATS
20170225748 · 2017-08-10 ·

This invention relates to a generally molded fiberglass apparatus that serves a multipurpose function for inflatable boats. The apparatus attaches to the bow of the boat and includes a forward passenger seat with a backrest and optionally servers to provide a step for embarking or disembarking the boat at the bow, and location for affixing one or more marine navigational or safety devices or accessories. The invention is affixed to the inner bow section of the passenger area to an inflatable tubular member craft by a permanent or semi-permanent means including, but not limited to clamps, adhesives, bolts, clips, snaps, ties, ratchets, or a combination thereof. The apparatus is shaped to conform to the topside bow curvature of the inflatable boat and to the adjacent concave curvature on the substantially vertical section within the passenger area at the bow of the inflatable boat, utilizing the craft's structure as the seated area.

A boat includes: a hull; a float that supports the hull; a suspension that is disposed between the hull and the float and absorbs a vibration transmitted from the float to the hull; and a conversion mechanism that converts an energy generated in accordance with a relative movement of the hull and the float in a vertical direction, wherein the conversion mechanism is arranged so as to sandwich a center of gravity of the hull in a forward-rearward direction.

Method for the maintenance of a retractable thruster

A method for the maintenance of a ship or platform propulsion assembly includes providing a hull insert forming a watertight housing located within a hull of a ship except for an opening. A motor is in the hull external to the housing and a thruster is external to the hull. A telescopic driving shaft sealingly passes through one of the walls of the housing to operatively connect the motor and the thruster to transmit movement to the thruster. Moving the thruster includes retracting the thruster into the housing through the opening. A separable submersible movable hatch is lowered by removable hanging cables. The submersible movable hatch externally engages the housing and sealingly closes the opening to close the housing and form a watertight closed chamber. Fluids within the closed chamber are evacuated even when the hull is floating and partially submersed, with the thruster at least partially in air.

A removable cover assembly to provide or extend shading or precipitation coverage that can be mounted to a plurality of locations, including a fence or the rod holders of a boat. The cover assembly is collapsible for portability and ease of storage. The cover assembly further includes a cover unit mounted to the collapsible frame in a manner that creates a high arch to maximize airflow, shade, and clearance underneath the cover assembly. The entire present invention can be stored and transported in a slim storage assembly.
