The invention relates to a system (2), having: a buoyant buoy (4), and a floating hose (6) which has a plurality of buoyant hose segments (8) which are coupled in series. The buoy (4) has a liquid outlet connection (12) which is connected to the floating hose (6), so that the floating hose (6) is arranged in a geometrical arrangement with respect to the buoy (4). A plurality of node units (18) are fastened in a distributed manner to the floating hose (6) and the buoy (4). Each node unit (18) is designed to establish, by means of an associated radio unit, a respective radio link (22, 24, 26, 28) to each of at least two of the further radio units of the respective node units (18, 42, 44, 46, 48), so that a radio network (30) is created. Each node unit (18) is designed to determine a relative distance (32, 34, 36, 38) from each further node unit (18) on the basis of the respective radio link.

SONOBUOY VOLUMETRIC ARRAY DEPLOYMENT MODULE

A deployment module according to the present application enables both compact stowage of a sensor array and expansion of the sensor array into a three-dimensional volumetric array shape that enables improved directionality of the sensors during operation. The deployment module includes a support shell that is configured to retain a cable of the sensor array separately from sensors of the sensor array and an expandable deployment body formed of a superelastic shape memory alloy that uses superelasticity and stored energy for deployment of the sensor array. During deployment, the deployment body is removed from the support shell and the sensors are subsequently pulled out of the support shell. The deployment body then expands and holds the cable to retain the three-dimensional volumetric shape of the deployed array.

A barrier for restriction of passage across or through a body of water, the barrier including a plurality of interconnected buoyant bodies which are spaced apart from one another in a longitudinal array, a plurality of deterrent components on or between the buoyant bodies and obstructive material which in use extends downwardly from the buoyant bodies.

Pressure-Resistant Buoys
20220185429 · 2022-06-16 ·

A subsea buoy comprises a rigid watertight external shell extending continuously around a supporting internal structure that is sealed and fully enclosed by the shell. The shell is formed integrally and simultaneously with the internal structure by the same additive manufacturing process. The internal structure comprises cavities disposed between structural members, such as struts of a lattice or webs of a matrix. The structural members and cavities can be in a hierarchical or fractal array comprising a relatively narrow outer tier adjoining the shell and at least one relatively wide inner tier within the outer tier.
