Vessel load measurement system

A vessel load measurement system includes a laser measurement system configured to measure distances and angles by directing a laser of the laser measurement system onto remote laser targets and a controller configured to use the laser measurement system to measure a height of a first laser target placed at a known location on a vessel, obtain pitch and roll measurements of the vessel, and compute at least one vessel corner height based on the measured height of the first laser target at the known location on the vessel, the pitch and roll measurements of the vessel, and known dimensions of the vessel. The first laser target may be part of a jig that can be placed at a known location on the vessel. The jig may include at least one tilt sensor. An additional laser target may be used to measure the water level.

Vessel data integration system

The present invention relates to a vessel data integration system and a vessel comprising same. Accordingly, the present invention preferably comprises: a first vessel data conversion device for converting first vessel data which have a non-standard format and are received from first equipment; a second vessel data conversion device for converting second vessel data which have a standard format and are received from second equipment; a data processing device for classifying, by type, the integrated vessel data received from the vessel data conversion device; a complex event processing (CEP) device for filtering out integrated vessel data, which needs to be transmitted in real-time; and a real-time data transmission device for transmitting in real-time the integrated vessel data.

System and method for tracking and forecasting the positions of marine vessels

There is disclosed a system and method for forecasting the positions of marine vessels. In an aspect, the present system is adapted to execute a forecasting algorithm to forecast the positions of one or a great many marine vessel(s) based on one or more position reporting systems including coastal and satellite AIS (S-AIS) signals or LRIT received from the vessel. The forecasting algorithm utilizes location and direction information for the vessel, and estimates one or more possible positions based on previous paths taken by vessels from that location, and heading in substantially the same direction. Thus, a body of water can be divided into “bins” of location and direction information, and a spatial index can be built based on the previous paths taken by other vessels after passing through that bin. Other types of information may also be taken into account, such as ship-specific data, nearby weather, ocean currents, the time of year, and other spatial variables specific to that bin.

A system and method for deterring theft of a marine vehicles is provided. The system is designed to collect barometric pressure data and analyze it to determine whether there has been a sudden change in elevation that may be indicative of a theft. The system is also designed to collect environmental data pertaining to a marine vehicle's normal environment and compare it to a normal environmental state of the marine vehicle in order to detect changes that may be indicative of a theft. Additionally, the system is designed to monitor equipment of the marine vehicle and alert a user if the equipment has been moved in a way that may be indicative of a theft. When the system determines an event has occurred that may be indicative of a theft, the system may alert the user by triggering an alarm via a computer readable signal.

A method of controlling an adjustable exhaust system for a marine engine includes receiving a vessel location of a marine vessel having an adjustable exhaust system and identifying a desired position of the bypass valve based on the vessel location and/or a current time. If the bypass valve is not in the desired position, an instruction is generated to adjust the bypass valve to the desired position to change a noise level generated by the adjustable exhaust system.
