Motorized aquatic animal deterrent
A motorized, floating device is associated with another aquatic device that carries a passenger or passengers (associated aquatic device). The invention comprises components such as one or more magnetic field emitters that deter aquatic animals from approaching the associated aquatic device without interfering with the operation of the associated aquatic device. The associated aquatic device may be a surfboard, a raft, a personal watercraft, or other similar small craft that floats in water. The invention may be used with larger boats and other watercraft. The motorized aquatic animal deterrent is tethered to the associated aquatic device to follow movement of the associated aquatic device but is spaced apart from the associated aquatic device.
Security bulwark, perimeter protection system and method of protecting a perimeter
In one aspect, the present invention provides a security bulwark for mounting outside a perimeter railing of a vessel or marine installation. The bulwark has a front face comprising a projecting mound. The mound has an underside which provides the bulwark with an overhang. The mound is also convex in a direction of the breadth of the bulwark. The invention also provides a perimeter protection system comprising a plurality of such security bulwarks arranged side-by-side and adjacent to each other. Finally, the invention further provides a method of protecting a perimeter of a vessel or marine installation. The method comprises positioning a plurality of security bulwarks side-by-side and adjacent to each other along a perimeter railing of a vessel or marine installation, attaching some of the plurality of security bulwarks to the railing, and connecting remaining ones of the plurality of security bulwarks which are not attached to the railing to ones of the plurality of security bulwarks which are attached to the railing. Thus even if a security bulwark cannot be mounted directly to the perimeter railing, for example because of a gap in the railing or an obstruction in the way of the railing, the bulwark can still be positioned in the same location outside the railing and securely mounted in that location by being connected to an adjacent security bulwark which can be mounted to the perimeter railing.

Electrical naval azimuth propulsion system comprising magnetic shielding means to shield the magnetic field generated by the electric motor
A naval azimuth propulsion system including an electric motor, a propeller operatively connected to the electric motor to rotate about a relative central axis, an annular nozzle positioned coaxially around the propeller, elements for supporting the motor and the propeller, these elements being connectable to the hull of a ship, first magnetic shielding means designed to shield the magnetic field generated by the electric motor during its operation.

A SECURITY BARRIER FOR A VESSEL
A barrier (1) installed on a generally upright structure, the structure being generally elongate and protruding from a surface to rise to a first height above the surface, wherein: the barrier has a front surface (10), which lies on a first side of the upright structure, and a rear surface (13), which lies either on the same side, or on the opposite side, of the upright structure, the front and rear surfaces being connected to each other; the barrier rises to a second height above the surface, the second height being higher than the first height; and neither of the front and rear surfaces of the barrier significantly protrudes in a direction which is generally perpendicular to the plane of the upright structure than the other of the front and rear surfaces of the barrier.
OBSTRUCTION FOR USE WITH SECURITY BULWARKS, PERIMETER PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROTECTING A PERIMETER
An obstruction positioning in a recess between an adjacent pair of security bulwarks mounted outside a perimeter railing of a vessel or marine installation is provided. The obstruction comprises a rear end for positioning towards the perimeter railing, a front end for positioning away from the perimeter railing, and a top side, an underside and a pair of opposing lateral cheeks separating the front end from the rear end. The obstruction comprises a connection facility for connecting the obstruction to at least one of the perimeter railing and the adjacent pair of security bulwarks. The top side slopes downwardly from the rear end towards the front end during use of the obstruction between an adjacent pair of security bulwarks, so that a hand of an unauthorized potential boarder placed on the top side of the obstruction will tend to slide off it in a seaward direction.

Security device
A security device comprising: a barrier, and a plate, wherein the barrier and the plate are releasably attachable to each other, and when the barrier and plate are attached the device comprises a slot for receiving a rail and the device may hang on a rail with the rail received in the slot, and the barrier protrudes in a horizontal direction, perpendicular from a plane extending downwardly from the rail, to provide an overhang; and wherein at least a portion of the plate is made from a bullet-resistant material.
