A ship reverse-run detection system includes a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to: detect a direction of change in a position of a ship based on position information of the ship which is detected by a position detection device which is mounted on the ship, specify a traveling direction associated with a navigation region of the ship which is specified based on the position information, by referring to a storage which stores the navigation region and the traveling direction in association with each other, and detect reverse run of the ship in the navigation region based on the magnitude of an angle between the direction of the change and the traveling direction.
Automatic location placement system
A method of automatically moving, by an automatic location placement system, a marine vessel includes receiving, by a central processing unit, from a vision ranging photography system, at least one optical feed including data providing a mapping of an environment surrounding a marine vessel. The method includes displaying, by the central processing unit, on a touch screen monitor, the mapping of the environment. The method includes receiving, by the central processing unit, from the touch screen monitor, target location data. The method includes directing, by the central processing unit, at least one element of a propulsion system of the marine vessel, to move the marine vessel to the targeted location, using the mapping.

A method for controlling a propulsion operation of a propulsion unit to reach a desired speed of a marine vessel. The method comprises obtaining a target speed configuration indicating the desired speed of the marine vessel, obtaining a current speed value associated with a current speed of the marine vessel, obtaining a fill level value associated with a fill level of one or more ballast tanks of the marine vessel, and controlling the propulsion operation of the propulsion unit to reach the desired speed based on the target speed configuration, the current speed value, and on the fill level value.

A control system for posture control tabs of a marine vessel assists operations of a steering control. The posture control tabs are mounted on a stern of a hull to move up or down to control a posture of the hull. Actuators actuate the respective posture control tabs. When a steering instruction is provided through the steering control, a processor determines the posture control tab to be actuated and controls the actuator corresponding to the posture control tab determined to be actuated so as to change the position of the determined posture control tab.

A steering device for an outboard motor is rotatably supported on a hull of a boat about a steering axis. The steering device includes a tiller handle, an actuator, and a linkage. The tiller handle is attached to the outboard motor. The actuator rotates the tiller handle about the steering axis. The link linkage is movably disposed between a connection position and a blocking position. The linkage transmits the driving force from the actuator to the tiller handle at the connection position. The linkage shuts off the transmission of the driving force from the actuator to the tiller handle at the blocking position.
