Ballast Water Treatment and Neutralization
Techniques and systems for neutralizing discharge waters from ballast and/or cooling water biocidal treatment and disinfection systems are provided. The systems utilize oxidation reduction potential control to regulate the dechlorination of a biocidal agent to allowable discharge levels in ship buoyancy systems and ship cooling water systems.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BALLAST WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A method and control unit for controlling a ballast water treatment system are disclosed. In the method, a prevailing operational condition value relating to the filter unit and/or the treatment unit is determined by means of a sensor. Based on the determined prevailing condition value, a modifying action is performed. The method further includes, when repeated during a determined time interval, tracking a trend for the development of the prevailing operational condition values and/or a frequency for the modifying actions. Based on the tracked trend, a moment in time where a critical value for the prevailing operational condition value is predicted. The ballast water treatment system is controlled by performing the modifying action on the basis of the prediction and/or the value for the determined prevailing condition.
ONLINE CLEANING DEVICE AND ONLINE CLEANING METHOD
The present invention discloses a cleaning liquid for a ship ballast water treatment filter, an online cleaning device and an online cleaning method. The online cleaning device comprises a filter cleaning pipeline and a cleaning liquid preparation tank located in the filter cleaning pipeline. The cleaning liquid preparation tank is provided with a cleaning liquid outlet and a cleaning liquid reinjection opening. The filter cleaning pipeline comprises a cleaning liquid injection pipeline located between the cleaning liquid outlet of the cleaning liquid preparation tank and a filter water inlet, and a cleaning liquid reinjection pipeline located between a filter water outlet and a cleaning liquid reinjection opening of the cleaning liquid preparation tank. The cleaning liquid prepared in the cleaning liquid preparation tank is injected into the filter through the cleaning liquid injection pipeline and is re-injected into the cleaning liquid preparation tank through the cleaning liquid reinjection pipeline.
Electrochemical analysis device for reagentless detection
A system and method for treating water containing at least one contaminant. The system and method include a water treatment module such as a reverse osmosis unit. An electrochemical contaminant detection system is positioned in the waste water stream of the water treatment module. The contaminant detection system includes a contaminant sensor and a water quality sensor module. The contaminant sensor measures the concentration of the contaminant in the waste water stream and the water quality sensor module measures one or more water quality parameters of the waste water stream. A processor uses an algorithm to determine the concentration of the contaminant in the feed water based on the measurements of the contaminant sensor and water quality sensor module.

METHOD OF DRIVING BALLAST WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a method of driving a ballast water treatment system. The ballast water treatment system includes an air compressor for compressing air, an air receiver tank for storing the compressed air, an oxygen generator for generating oxygen from the air, an oxygen receiver tank for storing the oxygen, an ozone generator for generating ozone from the oxygen, a ballast water pump for pumping ballast water, an inflow line for transferring the ballast water, an ozone injector for injecting the ozone into the inflow line, and a destructor for purging the ozone. The driving method includes a step of pressing a stop button to stop the ballast water treatment system, a step of purging ozone generated in the ozone generator, and a step of stopping each device of the ballast water treatment system.
DISTRIBUTOR TRAY WITH COMPARTMENTS AND GAS RISERS OF THE SAME SHAPE FOR AN OFFSHORE GAS/LIQUID CONTACT COLUMN
The invention relates to a distributor tray (100) for a column for contact between a gas (G) and a liquid (L), comprising a plurality of compartments defined on one face of the tray by secant partitions (104) which are perforated (105) to allow the flow of liquid between adjacent compartments. Each compartment comprises at least one means for the passage of the liquid through the tray or a chimney (102) projecting from the tray for the exclusive passage of said gas (G) through the tray. The shape of the chimney is identical to the shape of the compartment containing it, and the chimney has an internal volume at least equal to the volume of the compartment containing it.

portable mixing apparatus for ballast water treatment
A portable apparatus and process for treating and mixing ballast water. The apparatus is a lightweight, easily transportable air sparger that serves as a backup treatment system in the event of failure of a Ballast Water Maintenance System or in an emergency or when an unregulated vessel arrives in port with a filled tank. The sparger is operated with compressed air passing through arms and hoses extending from a central hub. Fluids exiting arms produce streams at various levels circulating and mixing ballast water, minimizing energy consumption.
