The invention relates to a propulsion device for an aircraft, comprising a blade (2) which can be rotated about an axis of rotation (51) of the propulsion device along a circular path (52) and is mounted for pivoting about a blade bearing axis parallel to the axis of rotation; a pitch mechanism having a coupling device (31) and a bearing device (33); and an offset device (4) to which the blade is coupled, the offset device defining an eccentric bearing axis (41) which is mounted at an adjustable offset distance. The coupling device is coupled to the blade at a coupling point (32) which is positioned in such a way that the plane that comprises the blade bearing axis and the coupling point and the tangential plane to the circular path through the blade bearing axis include a certain, non-vanishing angle (w.sub.α) when the offset distance is set to zero. According to a second aspect the blade bearing axis is shifted toward the axis of rotation by a certain distance relative to the plane that extends through the center of mass of the blade and that extends parallel to the axis of rotation and to the chord of the blade.

Stator and duct ring structural fittings

A duct for a ducted-rotor aircraft includes a hub, a duct ring, and a plurality of stators that extend outward from the hub. The duct ring defines a trailing edge. The duct includes one or more fittings, such as a system of fittings. Each fitting has a body that defines a first attachment interface that is configured to couple to structure of the duct ring and a second attachment interface that is configured to couple to one of the plurality of stators. The first and second attachment interfaces are spaced from each other such that when the fittings are coupled to the duct ring and the plurality of stators, all or substantially all of each of the plurality of stators are located aft of the trailing edge of the duct ring.

INLET FOR UNDUCTED PROPULSION SYSTEM

A propulsion system is provided including an unducted rotating fan defining a fan axis; and a turbomachine disposed downstream from the unducted rotating fan, wherein the turbomachine defines a working gas flowpath flowing therethrough; wherein the propulsion system defines a third stream flowpath and an inlet passage having an inlet that is offset from the fan axis, wherein the inlet passage is configured to provide an inlet airflow to the working gas flowpath, and wherein the third stream flowpath bypasses at least a portion of the turbomachine.

System and method for testing control logic for a propeller of a gas turbine engine

A method (600) for testing control logic for a propeller driven by a gas turbine engine of an aircraft includes overriding (602) a signal indicating the aircraft is operating in a ground mode. The method can further include testing (604) minimum pitch protection logic when the signal is overridden; determining (606) the gas turbine engine is operating at a ground fine setting; restoring (608) the signal to an original state in which the signal indicates the aircraft is operating in the ground mode; modifying (610) pitch protection logic; determining (614) the propeller is operating at an overspeed condition; and testing (616) the propeller overspeed protection logic. In addition, the method can also determine (612) the propeller is operating at a low pitch condition when the gas turbine engine is operating at the ground fine setting.
