Parachute riser assembly
A parachute riser assembly for a parachute comprises a left riser, a right riser, and a curtain. The left riser is configured to extend from a canopy and is configured to be coupled to a left attachment point of a harness worn by a user, according to various embodiments. Similarly, the right riser is configured to extend from the canopy and is configured to be coupled to a right attachment point of the harness, according to various embodiments. The curtain may be coupled to and may extend between the left riser and the right riser. In various embodiments, a portion of the curtain is configured to move along the left riser and the right riser from a furled state to an unfurled state in response to tensioning the left riser and the right riser.

RAPID AERIAL EXTRACTION SYSTEMS
A method for extracting a rescue subject from a surface position includes lowering a rescue pod having an enclosed compartment with a door from an aircraft, the rescue pod having a parachute and a control system, the rescue pod connected by a tether to a winch in the aircraft, controllably releasing the tether from the winch while maneuvering the aircraft into an orbit at altitude, diameter and airspeed, creating a gravity well in which the tether describes a spiral configuration with the pod descending along a vertical centerline, lowering the pod to the surface position, loading the rescue subject into the enclosed compartment, and lifting the rescue pod from the surface position by retrieving the tether with the winch or altering the path and speed of the aircraft, in a manner to gradually increase tension in the tether lifting the rescue pod from the ground point.

Elevation tracking device
The systems and methods provided herein are directed to a device for tracking a jumper's elevation during a parachute jump. The device includes an active sensor for monitoring a distance to the ground, which is disposed at an angle and transmitted from the jumper's calf to reduce the chance of self-obstruction. The device notifies the jumper in one of several ways when a threshold elevation is reached, and may take additional automated actions at particular elevation thresholds.
