An LED flash light source for a runway-embedded flash lighting device, includes an LED module; a frame-shaped attaching plate; a lens member; and a shock-absorbing sheet, wherein the lens member is attached to a hollow portion in a frame of the frame-shaped attaching plate, the lens member is configured to allow an emission surface of a flash emitted from the LED module to have a uniform illuminance distribution, the shock-absorbing sheet includes: a lower shock-absorbing sheet; and an upper shock-absorbing sheet, the lower shock-absorbing sheet is disposed on the LED module, the frame-shaped attaching plate to which the lens member is attached is disposed on the lower shock-absorbing sheet, and the upper shock-absorbing sheet is disposed on the frame-shaped attaching plate.
Aerial refueling system, apparatus and methods
An aerial refueling system utilizes the full drogue-probe coupling event as a control parameter for hose control. A variety of different types of signal sending and signal receiving devices may be used to indicate a coupling event between the drogue and probe. A positive coupling signal may serve to trigger a hose reel actuator to take up slack in the hose 16.
LED module for flashing lamp and flashing lamp
The present invention provides an LED module that can prevent breakage of an LED chip due to pulse lighting for a flash when the LED module is used in a flashing lamp. An LED module (10) for flashing lamp includes: an LED substrate (13); plural LEDs (12); and plural resin layers (11). In the LED module (10), the LEDs (12) are mounted on a mounting surface of the LED substrate (13). Each resin layer (11) is stacked on a surface of each LED (12) opposite to the LED substrate (13). Adjacent resin layers (11) stacked on the LEDs (12) are separated from each other.
Light communication between aircraft
Embodiments are directed to systems and methods for providing light communication (LC) for an aircraft. An LC transmitter is mounted on an aircraft fuselage and is configured to broadcast light signals within a defined region outside the aircraft. An LC receiver mounted on the aircraft fuselage is configured to receive light signals broadcast by a remote LC device. A controller is configured to manage LC signals in the aircraft, and an interface is provided between the controller and an aircraft data network. The light signals may be in a visible light spectrum, an invisible light spectrum, or both. The remote LC device may be, for example, a ground station, an aircraft, a ground vehicle, a ship, a building, or a portable transmitter.
METHOD OF DETERMINING OPERATING CONDITIONS OF AN EXTERIOR AIRCRAFT LIGHT, EXTERIOR AIRCRAFT LIGHT, AND METHOD OF CALIBRATING AN EXTERIOR AIRCRAFT LIGHT
A method of determining operating conditions of an exterior aircraft light comprising at least one light source includes: operating the at least one light source of the exterior aircraft light; repeatedly detecting light with a light detector, which is located at the exterior aircraft light and configured for providing light detection values; determining a smallest light detection value (I.sub.min) provided by the light detector within a first period of time, and storing said smallest light detection value (I.sub.min) as an element of a series of smallest light detection values (I.sub.min); and evaluating the light detection values and the series of smallest light detection values (I.sub.min) for detecting erosion of an optical component of the exterior aircraft light, for detecting the presence of ambient light and/or for detecting the presence of fog and/or clouds in front of the exterior aircraft light.
Runway-embedded flash lighting device
A runway-embedded flash lighting device includes: a body configured to be embedded in a runway; a ceiling member including a flash emission window, disposed in an upper opening of the body and configured to be exposed to a runway surface when the body is embedded in the runway; a light guide member disposed in the flash emission window; an LED flash light source disposed inside the body and configured to emit a flash toward the light guide member; and a bottom cover member disposed on and covering the lower opening of the body and including on an outer surface thereof on a side opposite to the body, a support portion protruding from the outer surface of the bottom cover member.
