An apparatus and methods for producing at extremely high production speeds small pouches filled with tobacco or other granular, powdered or solid content. An endless web substrate, with or without flavor film thereon, is formed into a tubular shape with a longitudinal seam. The tube is cut to individual lengths, and a procession of tubes is crimp-closed at one end, filled and crimp-closed at the other end to complete pouch production. During production, the seams formed at the crimped ends of the pouch are parallel to one another and the longitudinal seam of the pouch is midway between the sides of the pouch and orthogonal to the seams formed at the crimped ends of the pouch.

The functional member includes one or more communication duct(s) arranged in the sterile internal space. The sterile individual set also includes structural association elements capable of holding together several portions of the communication duct or ducts that are to be bundled together into a bundle. The structural association elements have an external surface with lower static and dynamic friction coefficients so as to make the functional member easier to handle by slippage of the bundle of communication ducts with respect to the peripheral wall of the flexible bag.

[Technical Problem] A distance of a front free end portion of the gas nozzle being weighed down due to its own weight is alleviated or eliminated to suppress contact between the gas nozzle and a product.
[Solution to Problem] The present invention provides a packaging apparatus equipped with gas replacement function. In the packaging apparatus, a gas nozzle 43 is inserted into a tubular film 20, and inert gas is ejected from the gas nozzle, thereby replacing the gas inside the tubular film with the inert gas. After gas replacement, a top sealing device 30 seals and cuts the tubular film to form a packaged body. The gas nozzle is formed of magnetic material. A permanent magnet 35 is disposed inside an endless belt 34 of an upper holding belt device 28. The gas nozzle formed of magnet material is drawn to be raised due to magnetic force of the permanent magnet. Due to this contact between the gas nozzle and a product is suppressed.

A vertical flow-wrapper that includes a form-fill-tube along which a film is transported in a transport direction and formed into a film tube; a longitudinal-sealing means, which seals two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube together to form a longitudinal seal, the longitudinal-sealing means includes a seal jaw and a pair of guiding rollers provided upstream from the seal jaw to guide the two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube through the seal jaw and pressing means to press the two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube together; and a cross-sealing means and a cutting means which provide cross seals to each package and separate the packages from each other; an axis of rotation of the pair of guiding rollers are provided parallel to a transportation plane of the two opposing longitudinal ends of the formed film and not perpendicular to the transport direction.
