A packaging machine for producing packs with a group of cigarettes as pack content, having individual manufacturing units which are arranged adjacent to one another on a manufacturing line and which are (non-destructively) separable from one another in each case in the region of or along (imaginary) parting planes between them and are removable from the manufacturing line as required, wherein the packaging machine can be converted from a first configuration, in which a first pack type can be manufactured, into a second configuration, in which a second pack type which differs from the first pack type can be manufactured, by removing at least one separable manufacturing unit from the manufacturing line, by replacing at least one separable manufacturing unit with another separable manufacturing unit and/or by adding at least one further separable manufacturing unit to the manufacturing line.

The present application relates to a rod article distribution apparatus (10) for distributing rod articles (50) between at least two storage columns. The apparatus (10) has a rod article infeed (20), a rod article distributor (30) having an epicyclic drum arrangement, and at least two rod article receiving channels (41). High-speed methods to close tubular plastic wrappers may include providing a packaging film on a mandrel in the form of a hollow tube, forming a folded surface by rotating the hollow tube and mandrel while counter-rotating a plate having a plurality of folding blades extending outwardly therefrom, to form a plurality of folds that define the folded surface, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hollow tube, each folding blade engaging a portion of the protruding tube portion, applying heat and pressure to the folded surface to form a closed end, inserting the tampon into the tube, and closing the first end of the tube. The film material comprises at least one thermoplastic surface, and the mandrel has a first end extending from a revolving platform and a second end, distal the first end. The mandrel can rotate with respect to the revolving platform on which it is mounted.

Packaging for a cigar is provided. The packaging includes a tube configured to receive the cigar therein. The tube includes an open end and an opposing closed end. A cap is releasably secured to the open end of the tube. The packaging further includes an infusing agent. The infusing agent is configured to act as a humidifier to prevent the cigar from drying out while the cigar is in the packaging and the infusing agent is further configured to provide flavor and aroma to the cigar while the cigar is in the packaging. A method of packaging a cigar is also provided.

Packaging for a cigar is provided. The packaging includes a tube configured to receive the cigar therein. The tube includes an open end and an opposing closed end. A cap is releasably secured to the open end of the tube. The packaging further includes an infusing agent. One or more methods for preparing a personal care product using HPP may be provided. The methods may include preparing one or more raw materials, including for example botanical or plant matter. The one or more raw materials may be infused into a substance using HPP, which may result in an infused substance. To make the final personal care product the infused substance may then be mixed with one or more additional ingredients and the personal care product may then be packaged. Finally, before shipping and distribution, the packaged personal care product may be processed using HPP, which may extend the shelf-life of the packaged product.

A method and machine for packaging smoking articles or other tobacco industry products in which the products and packaging may be transported from selected product supply systems and packaging material supply systems selectively along a plurality of alternative transport routes through the machine through a series of workstations arranged to incorporate batches of smoking products selectively in different packaging materials according to the transport route selected.
