Assembly and method for creating custom three-dimensional structures from printable blank sheets
10214317 · 2019-02-26 · ·

A printable blank comprises a sheet with a with outline perforation lines defining a periphery of an object. The sheet is capable of being passed through a printer to have an image printed on it. The sheet also comprises run-out perforation lines extending from the periphery to edges of the sheet, wherein the sheet can be folded along the run-out perforations to detach the object from the sheet. A method for creating custom print structures includes running a printable blank sheet through a printer and then bending the sheet along run-out perforation lines to detach an object from the sheet. The object can then be folded along scored fold lines to assemble it into a three-dimensional structure.

Tamper-evident reusable package closure
10167111 · 2019-01-01 · ·

A reusable closure system is disclosed for packaging applications. The closure system generally includes a base and hinged lid. The base is bondable to a package and includes a field of touch fasteners having one or more cut-lines therein defining a hinged pull-tab assembly. The lid includes a complementary touch fastener field and can be placed in the open position to expose the pull-tab assembly, which can then be peeled back to open the package by virtue of the bond between the pull-tab assembly and a frangible region in the package. After opening, the pull-tab assembly can be stowed to the lid, so as to provide a lid-based plug corresponding to the package hole. Optional tamper-evident elements allow a consumer to see the package has not yet been opened. Stay-open lid and anti-peel mechanisms may also be provided. A dispensable roll/fanfold of the closures can feed a flow-wrap packaging process.

Fusion packaging

Disclosed herein are fusion packaging and fusion packages. A package includes a frame which provides structure, a sidewall fused to the frame, and a cap connected to one end of the frame. Another package includes a sleeve, a cap fused to one end of the sleeve, and a seal configured to be fused to a remaining end of the sleeve after filling with content. Another package includes a frame, a film fused to the frame, a cap connected to one end of the frame, and a seal connected to another end of the frame, where one of the cap and seal are connected to the frame after material placement. Sealed edges are formed at junctures between a frame, sleeve, or cap and a sidewall or film when frame, sleeve, or cap material embeds with sidewall or film material.

Method and Apparatus For Sealing An Opened Beverage Container

A method and apparatus for sealing an opened beverage container is characterized by a removable cover member with an upper, a middle, and a lower portion, the middle portion having a cavity configured to receive a beverage container's tab. When in use, in some embodiments, the present invention may provide that a user may insert a beverage tab into the cavity to removably form a tab/cover member combination. The user may then rotate the tab/cover member combination into position over a beverage container's opening. The user may then press down on the tab/cover member combination and insert the tab/cover member combination into the beverage container's opening, thereby removably sealing the beverage container's opening. If desired, the user may press on a raised edge attached to the present invention's upper portion and dislodge the tab/cover member combination from the beverage container's opening, thereby unsealing the beverage container's opening.

Inner seal with a sub tab layer

A pull-tab sealing member for a container containing an upper laminate forming a pull-tab bonded to a lower laminate capable of being heat sealed to a container's mouth or opening. The upper laminate defines the pull tab wholly within a perimeter or circumference of the seal. The sealing member further includes a sub tab layer or member under the gripping tab for concentric structural support.

Beverage can end having an asymmetrical opening

A beverage can end for pressurized contents includes a score that defines a pair of The lobes have longitudinal axes that are not mutually parallel and in some embodiments substantially perpendicular to improve flow.

Device for the controlled transfer of volatile gases or gaseous molecules into a container intended to contain a liquid or semi-liquid food product
10131865 · 2018-11-20 · ·

According to the invention, this device includes a rigid capsule (2) forming a chamber (6) whereof one longitudinal end (6a) is open, and forming a longitudinal duct (7) for the flow of a liquid or semi-liquid food product (300); an active product (3) contained in the chamber (6), capable of absorbing a gas and/or volatile gaseous molecules present in the food product (300), or of diffusing a volatile gas and/or gaseous molecules into the food product (300); a cap (4) for closing the open longitudinal end (6a) of the chamber (6, having a penetrable septum (4c), the cap (4) being able, when it is placed on the capsule (2) and its septum (4c) is not perforated, to close the chamber (6) so that it is sealed against gases and water, and allowing, when it is perforated, a transfer of volatile gases and/or gaseous molecules between the outside and the inside of the chamber (6), and a membrane (5) permeable to the volatile gases and/or gaseous molecules to be absorbed or diffused, placed in the chamber (6) so as to separate the active product (3) contained in the chamber (6) from the outside. The invention also relates to a closure for a container as described above, comprising the device (1), a method for manufacturing a container comprising such a closure, and a machine for implementing this method.
