Using the save-and-draw capping system, the rubber surface may be sealed after it has been punctured. A secondary seal may be used to apply pressure to the cap of the liquid medicine bottle. A draw attachment, such as a draw needle, may be attached to the save-and-draw cap so that a hose may be connected to the liquid medicine bottle when multiple injections are needed. The save-and-draw capping system may be removed from one liquid medicine bottle to be used on another liquid medicine bottle.

The ring has a top wall (34) and a flexible skirt (36) extending downwardly from the top wall. The flexible skirt includes a plurality of spaced-apart first legs (40) and a plurality of spaced-apart second legs (42) arranged in an alternating manner. Each of the first and second legs has a first end at the top wall and an opposing second end. The first legs are different from the second legs. An interior surface of each first leg has a first inwardly protruding ledge (44) between the first and second ends. Each second leg has a second inwardly protruding ledge (48) at the second end. An interior surface of each second leg has a flexible tongue (50) and a recess (52) configured to receive the flexible tongue. The tongues are adapted to retain an elastomer stopper (14).

TWO-PART DISPENSING CLOSURE SYSTEM WITH INTERNAL SEAL AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

A dispensing closure system includes an upper closure portion and a lower closure portion including an axial flow conduit and a vent conduit. The upper closure portion is axially movable relative to lower closure portion between shipping and dispensing positions. A seal is disposed on the lower closure portion over the flow and vent conduits. A peripheral spacing strip is removably secured to the upper closure portion and engages with either the lower closure or the outside of the container to prevent movement. A piercing probe includes piercing elements in alignment with the flow and vent conduits for piercing the seal. In the shipping position, the piercing elements are spaced from the seal. However, when the spacing strip is removed and the upper closure portion is axially moved to the dispensing position, the piercing elements pierce the seal to open the flow conduit and the vent conduit.

Embodiments are directed to a removable cap with a conduction seal closure for sealing an opening of a container. The cap has a side wall and a top wall with an open access hole there-through. A flat upper portion surrounds the open access hole, which is sealed by the conduction seal. The conduction seal comprises a first polymer sealing layer, an aluminum foil layer on top of the first layer to heat seal the first layer to the cap, and a second polymer layer arranged on top of the aluminum foil layer for protection. The aluminum foil provides a formable shaping strength such that upon seal piercing, a permanent memory spread of the first and third layers is achieved. Removal of the cap does not damage the seal. Access to the container contents is achieved without probe contact to the as-pierced seal.
