Inside out method of manufacturing a container with a leak resistant seal
11279526 · 2022-03-22 · ·

Embodiments include a method of manufacturing a container with a leak resistant seal. The method includes forming an elastomer or a plastic or any combination thereof into a container inside out by forming an outside portion of the container on an internal surface of the container before inverting the container and forming an inside portion of the container on an external surface of the container before inverting the container. In embodiments, the method includes forming or coupling a leak resistant seal on the external surface of the container before inverting the container. The leak resistant seal provides access to the inside portion of the container when the leak resistant seal is open after inverting the container and holds at least liquid internal to the container when applying an external force to the container without use of an external structure to keep the leak resistant seal closed after inverting the container.

The impact safe lightweight floating cooler device disclosed herein may provide a buoyant and resilient cooler device that may also be safe for a user that could be hit by the device. To be more specific, a user traversing tumultuous waters or rapids, who also wishes to carry with them their food or drinks in a cooler, has no viable option known in the art that meets their needs. The needs of such users, in particular, may be that the device must be resilient and reusable, buoyant and stable, and also impact safe and wear resistant. To achieve these ends the device may comprise a foam core comprising a concave base for buoyancy and improved balance. The foam core may also provide an impact safe and impact resistant design. The device may comprise a lid for accessing its central cavity, and the lid itself may comprise silicone-covered magnets for providing a watertight seal. The side walls of the main body may comprise multiple layers for added functionality.

Lid For Container

An insulating container may include an opening, which can be sealed by a closure. The closure may have an upper portion with a handle that has a circular curvature equal to the cylindrical portion of the closure. The closure may also have a lower portion that is joined to the upper portion by an injection molded polymer element. The closure may also be in the form of “flip” type of closure such that the lid can be selectably opened or closed by the user by rotating a flip closure into either the opened or closed position. The closure may also be a two-part lid having a lower cap that may be configured to be removably-coupled to the container and an upper cap that may be configured to be removably-coupled to the lower cap.

A pail includes a container and a lid. The container includes a base, a container sidewall extending upwardly from the base to an upper rim, and a sealing rib extending from the container sidewall adjacent to the upper rim. The lid includes a channel for receiving the upper rim of the container, the channel includes a channel base, a plurality of protuberances arranged spaced apart on an inner surface of the channel base and extending downwardly therefrom, a first channel sidewall, and a sealing shoulder that projects inwardly from the first channel sidewall. When the upper rim of the container is received by the channel of the lid, the protuberances abut the upper rim and the sealing rib engages the first channel sidewall and the sealing shoulder. The protuberances can urge the sealing rib downwardly against the sealing shoulder, to thereby form a seal.
