METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SUPERABSORBENT PELLETS AND/OR OF A FIBROUS MATERIAL FROM CROP RESIDUES
The method of the invention comprises the following steps:
(i) cutting the maize stalks so as the less leafy stalk segments, higher than 70 cm, stay on the field;
(ii) cutting the less leafy stalk segments as close to the ground as possible;
(iii) harvesting the less leafy stalk segments cut in step (ii);
(iv) cutting the in step (iii) harvested less leafy stalk segments into 5-50 mm stalk sections;
(v) providing a mechanical impact to the stalk sections of step (iv) to obtain a mix containing: f1. said spongy cores forming the superabsorbent pellets fraction, f2. said elongated fiber pieces forming the fibrous matter fraction, f3. and said leaf matter forming the leafy fraction, (vi) separating the 3 fractions from each other; (vii) recovering the three fractions f1-f2-f3;
The invention also pertains to the so obtained products and to their uses in treatments of liquids or gases.

PEELABLE FILM FOR CONTAINER LID
A multi-layer film includes a skin layer, a core layer, and a seal layer. The multi-layer film may be used as a closure for a food container.

A multi-layer film includes a skin layer, a core layer, and a seal layer. The multi-layer film may be used as a closure for a food container.
Secondary packaging comprising a plurality of articles or containers and method for producing such a package
A pack including at least two articles or PET containers combined with each other, which are held together by means of a strip-like or ribbon-like compact strapping and said strapping being stretched around an outer surface of the articles or PET containers in a horizontal manner. The strapping is made of one, two or more similar or different plastic strapping band or bands made of a composite material with overlapping ends each whereby a single part or multi part contact point is formed by gluing and/or welding. The strapping forms a relief loop at the contact site or apart from the contact site.
Precision scored wrapper for in home use
A ready-made wrapper that can be used at home to wrap an article such as a snack bar and a method of making same is provided. The wrapper is a precision scored laminate comprising a flexible bottom layer adhered to a flexible top layer at least in part by a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). In one embodiment the bottom layer is scored so that one or more peripheral portions of the bottom layer can be removed and discarded, leaving a wrapper having an adhesive perimeter. After an article is placed in the center of the wrapper, the wrapper can be folded around the article to create an airtight package.
PACKAGING
Wrapper-type packaging composed of a flexible plastics sheet material in the form of a sack or bag having a front wall and a rear wall, which are located opposite one another and are sealed by a side sealing seam to form a flexible sack-like or bag-like tube, of which the opening is covered by a closure flap which is formed by a projection of the rear wall and is folded onto the front wall at least as far as the opening and is closed by longitudinal sealing and, possibly, transverse sealing or adhesive bonding, the opening having an opening aid, wherein the flexible plastics sheet material is oriented at least uniaxially and optionally is embossed and has a tear-propagation resistance in the machine direction which differs by at least 30% from the tear propagation resistance in the direction transverse to the machine direction.
MULTI-LAYERED PLASTIC FILM WITH SEPARATION EFFECT
An at least monoaxially stretched, multi-layer film with separation effect and a total thickness of 18 m which has on at least one surface an at least partial embossing.
PACKAGING FILM
A packaging film made of an at least monoaxially stretched, multi-layered plastic film comprised of at least up to 50% by weight of polyolefins and having a total thickness 18 m, which has an expansion of up to a maximum of 1% at a tensile force of at least 3N per 25 mm width according to DIN EN ISO 527.3
Method and apparatus for protecting electronic equipment from contamination
A system and method for reducing the spread of contamination via tactile interaction with a touch screen display device for a medical imaging system in a clinical environment which includes a series of display device protection procedures each involving unfurling a rolled disposable cover which was stored adjacent to said display device and after removal of liner tape from two opposing ends of the unfurled disposable cover, attaching the same to the display device.
