Pouch container for food product

A pouch container (1) for a food product, a filled container, and a method of filling are described. The container (1) comprises a sheet containment material configured surroundingly and sealingly to define a food containment volume, at least one closure seam (7) provided within the volume between paired opposing surfaces of the said sheet containment material to divide the containment volume into two food compartments (8,9) suitable to contain food product in use, wherein the said closure seam (7) has a pressure sensitive apertured portion (14) adapted to be closed at ambient pressure but to open when an internal pressure differential between the compartments reaches a predetermined point.

Modification of the pH and other physical properties of oxaloacetic acid to allow for enhanced stability and multiple delivery systems

The present invention relates to oxaloacetic acid preparations and the use of hygroscopic components to prevent decomposition of the oxaloacetic acid. These compounds can then be made into sublingual lozenges and buccal lozenges to serve as nutritional supplements, medical foods or drugs. These compounds can also be used in the manufacture of oxaloacetic acid preparations in transdermal patches, inhalation preparations and anal or vaginal suppositories. Also provided are simple inexpensive tests to monitor the decomposition of oxaloacetic acid in compositions.

LATCHABLE PACKAGE

A latchable package comprises: a support (200) for supporting one or more items; a structure (300) for selectively blocking access to the one or more items; and a latchable insert (400). The latchable insert comprises a substantially planar tab member that is coupled to the support such that the insert and support are movable together in an opening direction from a first position in which the structure blocks access to the one or more items to a second position in which the one or more items are accessibly clear of the structure. The structure and the latchable insert comprise co-operating latch features (380) configured to engage when the insert and support are arranged in the first position.

STRETCH BLOW-MOLDED PLASTIC CONTAINER, IN PARTICULAR PLASTIC BOTTLE, FOR COMPENSATING VOLUME CHANGES OF THE FILLING MATERIAL, AND PREFORM

A stretch blow-molded plastic container, including a container body, one longitudinal end of which is closed by a container bottom and to whose other longitudinal end is connected a shoulder section; and a container neck, which connects to the shoulder section, the shoulder section having at least two hinge-like areas that run in a circumferential direction, and which areas are arranged at a distance (a) from one another and in each case have a wall thickness (v, w) that is reduced compared to the adjoining areas, the stretch blow-molded plastic container having a total stretching ratio of greater than 11 for a longitudinal stretching ratio of 2.5 to 3.5.

Method for handling a hot-filled plastic bottle having a deep-set invertible base

A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.

CONTAINER WITH PRESSURE ACCOMMODATION PANEL

A container is provided with a body portion. The body portion includes a first vacuum panel, a second vacuum panel, a third vacuum panel, a first diagonal column between the first vacuum panel and the second vacuum panel, and a second diagonal column between the second vacuum panel and the third vacuum panel. The second vacuum panel and the third vacuum panel are oriented in opposite directions. In response to a change in an internal container pressure, the body portion flexes at the first vacuum panel such that a surface of the first vacuum panel increases in concavity in response to an increasing pressure change.

Stackable container including a shoulder with three stable positions

Container (1), obtained by blow molding or stretch blow molding of a blank made of plastic material, which comprises a body (2), a shoulder (3) in the extension of the body (2) at an upper end thereof, and a neck (4) in the extension of the shoulder (3), the shoulder (3) being articulated between two stable positions, namely a deployed position in which the shoulder (3) projects from the body (2), and a retracted position in which the shoulder (3) is at least partially retracted into the body (2), the shoulder (3) being articulated in order to be able to adopt, in addition to the deployed position and the retracted position, a third stable position, intermediate between the deployed position and the retracted position.

Method for shaping the bottom of hot-filled containers

A method is described for shaping the bottom of hot-filled containers, in which the bottoms of the containers are forced inwardly from a state bulged outwardly, in particular as they cool down. Complex mechanisms for forcing the bottom inwardly are dispensable for the reason that the bottoms are forced inwardly by at least one fluid jet and/or fluid pressure wave. In addition, shaping the bottom can advantageously be carried out in a production region immediately downstream of a closer.

Packaging

A method of forming packaging accommodates one or more products and packaging produced by the method. The method includes providing a planar packaging blank of foldable material and assembling it into packaging capable of accommodating at least one product. A flexible electronics module on the packaging blank has at least one temperature measurement device and a temperature display to measure and display the temperature of at least one of the products. The positioning of the flexible electronics module with respect to the packaging permits both to be folded together to form the assembled packaging. The packaging is foldable from a first unassembled state to a second assembled state to accommodate at least one product, and the electronics module is at least partly flexible to enable it to be folded with the packaging. The packaging may hold 6 beverage containers and might be considered to be a “six pack.”
