Loading system and method of use thereof

A system is provided for loading one or more transport tank, the system including one or more load lines for connecting between on-site storage tanks or vessels and the transport tanks; one or more vapour return lines for connecting between the transport tanks and an on-site flare or downstream units; an oxygen deficient medium source; one or more oxygen deficient medium blend supply lines connectable to each of the vapour return lines; a HMI/PLC for automation and control of the operations of the system; and a control panel in communication with the HMI/PLC for starting and stopping operation of the system. Gases displaced from the transport tanks during loading can be sent directly to flare or downstream units. A method is also provided for loading a fluid from one or more on-site storage tanks or vessels to one or more transportation tanks.

Making a plastic tank with an integrity-verifiable weld joint

A plastic tank is comprised of two parts, a base and a top, that are permanently joined to each other by welding at a circumferential joint formed by two mating flanges of the parts. Fusion weld elements are captured on the faying surfaces of the flanges of the assembled parts, and the elements are melted by internal heating of metal portions of the elements. Two spaced apart circumferential welds which define an annular space are formed. The pressure within the annular space is changed in a test procedure to verify the integrity of the welds.

Modular portable storage container system

A modular portable storage container system includes a storage container having first and second sections. The first section defines a first partial volume of storage space and the second section defines a second partial volume of storage space. The system further includes a lock mechanism with a lock arm, lock handle, and pivot shaft defining an axis of rotation. The lock arm and handle are fixed for common rotation with the pivot shaft. The arm extends radially outward from the pivot shaft to a roller assembly. A lock track is disposed within the second section and extends from a fluted open portion to a closed end, with a continuous track portion disposed therebetween. The first and second sections are movable between at least closed and open positions. In the closed position, the roller assembly engages with the lock track and retains the first section in contact with the second portion.

DETERMINING ITEM MORTALITY BASED ON TRACKED ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS DURING TRANSIT
20200042933 · 2020-02-06 ·

Item mortality, such as failure rates and expected remaining lifespan, may be determined based on tracked environmental conditions during transit, such as vibration, temperature, and other conditions. For complex items, multiple different internal components may have varying degrees of susceptibility to damage from unfavorable conditions, with each of the components able to individually cause a failure of the entire item. Thus, the specific set of internal components may drive item mortality prediction. Sensors may be located in shipping containers that share data collected throughout the supply chain, using a blockchain, to increase confidence in the integrity of the data. The use of mortality models generated with anonymized component or process data may enable manufacturers to protect trade secrets, such as the specific components or manufacturing processes used, even while leveraging the manufacturer's detailed knowledge of an item.
