Security device for bottles
A security device for mounting over the neck of a bottle having an exterior lip has outer cap structure including an annular housing portion (16) for location about the neck of a bottle and an end cap portion (18) at one end of the annular housing portion. A claw member (14) is slidably mounted to the outer cap structure for movement in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the annular housing portion between operative and inoperative positions. A latch mechanism (60) releasably secures the claw member in the operative position. The claw member has a plurality of resiliently deformable elongate claws (52a, 52b) for engagement with the neck of a bottle to which the device is mounted when the claw member is in the operative position. The claw member comprises at least two sets of claws (52a, 52b) of different lengths. The latch mechanism (60) may be a magnetically-releasable latch enabling the device to be removed using a magnetic key. The device may incorporate a RF or RFID tag.
DEVICE FOR CHECKING WHETHER A PACKAGE HAS BEEN OPENED OR NOT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID DEVICE
The invention relates to a device for checking whether a package has been opened or not, comprising at least one package (10), at least one electronic unit (18), at least one battery (12) which supplies the electronic unit (18) with energy, at least one display (14) which can be controlled by the electronic unit (18), said electronic unit (18), the battery (12) and the display (14) being arranged on the package (10). At least two contact tracks (23, 24) and/or electrodes (26, 28) and/or at least one strain sensor (25) are provided as means for detecting whether the package (10) has been opened or not.
Pilf resistant packaging system
A theft-proof packaging system includes a product package including a compartment configured to encapsulate a product. The compartment is in a non-surrounding environmental state, the non-surrounding environmental state being either pneumatically pressurized above a surrounding environment or pneumatically vacuumized below the surrounding environment. A pressure sensor inside the compartment includes a switch, the switch configured to disconnect and connect a power source to a transmitter, wherein the switch is configured to disconnect the power source from the transmitter in the presence of the non-surrounding environmental state inside the compartment and the switch is configured to connect the power source to the transmitter when the compartment equalizes to the surrounding environment. A receiving unit is disposed remote from the product package and receives the signal from the transmitter and sounds an alarm. A passive RFID tag may be located within the compartment and detected when passing through a walk-through scanner.
Securable clip
A securable clip includes a first elongated rectangular portion and a second elongated rectangular portion connected along a common edge. The clip includes at least one locking peg, at least one receiving hole configured to receive the at least one locking peg, and a frangible portion. The frangible portion provides a visual indication that the clip has been opened. The releasing of the locking peg prevents the clip from being reclosed, reused, or sealed again.
Diamond-based tradeable instrument security system
A tradeable commodity or instrument, a trading system for a plurality of such commodities, a method of trading using such a system and security systems related thereto. The tradeable instrument comprises a secure container constituted by a transparent cover (12), a stone holder pad (14), a set of diamonds (15), a diamond or stone holder (16), a data card (18), a bottom cover (20) and a tamper evident band (22) interconnected into a secure, tamper-evident envelope. The data card (18) incorporates physical and digital security features. In addition, at least one externally readable programmable logic device is incorporated in the tradeable instrument card. The tamper evident band (22) is shrunk onto the tradeable instrument card and includes physical security features in the form of holographic foils incorporated in the band.
THEFT DETERRENT LABEL AND PACKAGING INCORPORATING THE SAME
A theft deterrent label comprises a flexible body portion, the body portion comprising: a first destructible section; a second destructible section, the first destructible section and the second destructible section each having at least one weakness pattern provided therein; and a non-destructible section interposed between the first destructible section and the second destructible section and substantially devoid of any weakness pattern.
CONTAINER LOCKING SYSTEM
A container chassis coupling device includes a first mounting bracket that has a first locking bar securing element that is configured to secure the first mounting bracket to a first locking bar on a container, and a second mounting bracket that is slidably coupled to the first mounting bracket and that includes a second locking bar securing element that is configured to secure the second mounting bracket to a second locking bar on the container. The container chassis coupling device prevents the first locking bar and the second locking bar from being oriented from a locked orientation to an unlocked orientation. The container chassis coupling device also includes a node mounting device that is coupled to the first mounting bracket or the second mounting bracket and that is configured to couple a node chassis of a node device to the container chassis coupling device.
Apparatus for monitoring the content of a container and method therefor
Methods and apparatus for monitoring the content of a chamber of a container via electrical capacitive tomography (ECT) or acoustic imaging are presented. The three-dimensional volume of the chamber and its content are imaged by developing a map of permittivity or acoustic impedance by (1) applying a stimulus signal between each of a plurality of electrode pairs of a plurality of electrodes that is arranged about the chamber and (2), for each stimulus signal applied, measuring a response signal at each of the remaining electrodes of the plurality. Once the map of permittivity or acoustic impedance is established, the number and type of tablets (or liquid) within the chamber is determined.
Band Seal
A band seal having a strap including a head portion, a tail portion and a middle portion, a retainer, an adhesive pad and a release liner secured to the adhesive pad, wherein the band seal is positionable into three positions including a pre-attached position wherein the middle portion of the strap is in a non-looped orientation, a temporary position wherein the middle portion of the strap is in a looped orientation and the retainer holds the middle portion in this looped orientation with the tail portion being concentric with the middle portion, and an attached position wherein the release liner is removed from the adhesive pad and the tail portion is secured to the adhesive pad.
