A package securing system is disclosed suitable for large and small packages and envelopes. Said package securing system comprises a container into which a user would place items to be secured, and a peg or post onto which the user would place the container. Sliding the container past a flange on the peg causes the container to be locked onto the peg. A user may then operate an unlocking mechanism to remove the barrier to removal. The disclosed package securing system is easy to use prompting adoption by delivery persons.

The food delivery container has an internal volume, an opening, a cover to cover the opening to prevent access, and uncover the opening to allow access, a device for securing the cover and a sensing device for detecting whether the cover, after being positioned to cover the opening, is (still) secured over the opening, in reliance upon a state of the device for securing. The device for securing first implements a pairing or synchronizing operation with the cell phone. If the sensing device detects that the cover is not secured over the opening by the device for securing, after first being secured and armed thereon, the cell phone determines whether an authorized access has occurred.

A security device for mounting over the neck of a bottle having an exterior lip has outer cap structure including an annular housing portion (16) for location about the neck of a bottle and an end cap portion (18) at one end of the annular housing portion. A claw member (14) is slidably mounted to the outer cap structure for movement in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the annular housing portion between operative and inoperative positions. A latch mechanism (60) releasably secures the claw member in the operative position. The claw member has a plurality of resiliently deformable elongate claws (52a, 52b) for engagement with the neck of a bottle to which the device is mounted when the claw member is in the operative position. The claw member comprises at least two sets of claws (52a, 52b) of different lengths. The latch mechanism (60) may be a magnetically-releasable latch enabling the device to be removed using a magnetic key. The device may incorporate a RF or RFID tag.
