METHOD FOR PRESERVING PROBIOTIC COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
20210015879 · 2021-01-21 ·

The present invention discloses a method for preserving a probiotic composition, including: providing a bacterial cell suspension, which is one or more bacterial cell suspensions of a bacterium or Saccharomyces boulardii; mixing the bacterial cell suspension with a sodium alginate solution or an alginic acid solution; and adding the mixture to a calcium ion solution until the mixture is immobilized in a shape. The technology of the present invention has the effects of long-term preservation at room temperature and resistance to high temperature, and can be applied to ordinary bacterial strains, without being limited to a small number of bacterial species able to form endospore, and without requiring the strains to be frozen for preservation. The method of the present invention can be applied to the preparation of aquatic feeds, animal feeds, or probiotics that human beings need.

METHOD FOR PREPARING FERMENTED COMPOSITION WITH IMPROVED ODOR USING YEAST

The present disclosure relates to a method for preparing a fermented composition, and more specifically, to a method for preparing a fermented composition with improved odor, which comprises preparing grain flour; performing primary fermentation of the grain flour using yeast; performing secondary fermentation of the primary fermented product using a strain of the genus Bacillus; and obtaining the secondary fermented product. The fermented composition of the present disclosure has a high content of a peptide with a low molecular weight, and thus enables the increase of digestibility and absorption rate of proteins during ingestion while also improving the peculiar odor of a fermented product to enhance its palatability.

STORAGE STABLE MIXTURES

The present invention relates to improved formulations of propandiol mononitrate and derivatives thereof as well as to the production of such formulations.

MAINTAINING POPULATIONS OF NATURAL ENEMIES ON PLANTS

Methods and platforms are provided for maintaining a population of natural enemies on plants, prior and/or parallel to an occurrence of respective prey pests, by associating with the plants platform(s) comprising mechanical support(s) with attached feeding elements for the natural enemies. The platform may be configured to keep the feeding elements close to but not on the plants, protecting them and enhancing the distribution efficiency and life time, while maintaining good availability of the feeding elements to the natural enemies. Various features may enhance supporting the natural enemies' population prior and/or parallel to the occurrence of the pest prey such as olfactory and/or visual cues to the feeding elements as well as sheltering elements such as artificial domatia on the surface of the mechanical supportto enhance biological pest control. Moreover, methods for preparing decapsulated Artemia cysts as feed for predatory arthropods are provided.

Pet food including cannabidiolic acid

A pet food product includes a food substrate manufactured by extrusion, baking or other process involving heat. The pet food product includes less than 10% of hemp oil by weight, and preferably less than 5% by weight. The hemp oil has cannabinoids, including acidiccannabinoids. The acidic cannabinoids have a concentration of less than 100 parts per million, and preferably between 10-40 parts per million in the hemp oil. The acidic cannabinoids include cannabidiolic acid (CBD-A) and cannabidiol (CBD) in a ratio of at least 1:1, and preferably 3:1, or greater. An antioxidant is added to the hemp oil to inhibit oxidation of the acidiccannabinoids including the (CBD-A). The pet food product includes a second oil blended with the hemp oil. The antioxidant and the second oil cooperate to inhibit oxidation of the acidic cannabinoids.

CHEMICAL MITIGANTS IN ANIMAL FEED AND FEED INGREDIENTS

Methods of preventing or decreasing PEDv and/or Salmonella bacteria in animal feed, feed ingredients, and pet food are provided. The methods utilize generally safe chemical mitigants, such as medium chain fatty acids, essential oils, and sodium bisulfate. The chemical mitigants are introduced to the feed or feed ingredients at inclusion rates selected so as to prevent or decrease PEDv and/or Salmonella bacteria in the animal feed, feed ingredients, or pet food. The methods are particularly suitable for use in post-processing treatment of animal feed, feed ingredients, or pet food that will be transported and stored for multiple days or weeks.
