METHOD FOR INCREASING EFFECTIVE CONTENT OF NUTRITIONAL COMPONENTS OF WINGED BEAN PODS AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a method for increasing content of nutritional components of winged bean pods and an application thereof, which belongs to the technical field of deep processing of agricultural products. The method provided in the present disclosure comprises the following steps: (1) soaking a winged bean pod in water and mixing with an aqueous sodium chloride solution, and then steaming to obtain a softened pod; and (2) treating the softened pod with an alkaline substance or an acidic substance or cellulase. The present disclosure uses physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods to process the winged bean pods, and aims to find a method to increase the content of nutritional components of the pods and the palatability of animals, in order to better apply the pods to feed.
REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF FARMING USING BIOCHAR
A method for using treated biochar to reduce the overall environmental impact of farming and minimize the carbon footprint of farms is provided. The method comprising engaging in one or more of the following practices: (1) combining treated biochar with feed or using biochar as feed for animals to reduce methane from enteric fermentation and increase animal health and nutrition; (2) combining treated biochar with compost, animal bedding or manure piles to reduce odor and increase nutrient retention; (3) applying treated biochar to lagoons to reduce odor and treat water; (4) applying treated biochar to pastures to increase pasture health; (5) applying treated biochar to crops to increase crop productivity, healthier roots and prevent fertilizer leaching; and (6) using the carbon negativity of a produced biochar to reduce the overall farm or ranch carbon footprint.

ANTICAKING AGENT
The present invention refers to the use of a calcium carbonate-based composition as an anticaking agent, wherein the calcium carbonate-based composition comprises a first component being a natural ground calcium carbonate or a precipitated calcium carbonate, and a second component being a surface-reacted calcium carbonate, wherein the surface-reacted calcium carbonate is a reaction product of natural ground calcium carbonate or precipitated calcium carbonate with carbon dioxide and at least one H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donor, wherein the carbon dioxide is formed in situ by the at least one H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donor treatment and/or is supplied from an external source. Furthermore, the present invention refers to a particulate composition comprising such an anticaking agent, and to a method for producing such a particulate composition.
Distillation vacuum technology
This disclosure describes energy efficient process to distill a process stream in a production facility. A process uses multiple effect evaporators, ranging from one evaporator to eight evaporators in each effect. The process arrangement shows an example of four effect evaporators, with a zero-effect evaporator having a single evaporator, a first-effect evaporator having a set of three evaporators, a second-effect evaporator having a set of three evaporators, and a third-effect evaporator having a set of evaporators to create condensed distillers solubles.
APPARATUS FOR AND METHOD OF STEAM TREATING OF PLANT FIBRES
An apparatus for steam treating plant fibres is provided, the apparatus comprising: a steam manifold that is adapted to receive steam from a steam source and to distribute steam to a plurality of lances, the lances being configured to deliver steam into the interior volume of a batch of plant fibres; a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the batch of plant fibres, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a signal from the temperature sensor, and to control the supply of steam to the lances to raise the temperature of the plant fibres to a target temperature. A method of steaming plant fibres is also provided.
SINGLE CELL PROTEIN PROCESS AND PRODUCT
This disclosure describes methods to separate solids from liquids in a production facility. A process separates components in the process stream by applying non-condensable media to create density differences and then using a mechanical device to separate the solids from the liquids based on the density difference. The process produces the liquids and solids, which may be further processed to create valuable animal feed products.
