PERMITTED COMMUNICATION PARTNER REGISTRATION METHOD
An operation-side communication device that is operated by an operator and a machine-side communication device that is connected to an industrial machine mutually register each other as partners permitted to communicate with each other. A communication device receives a partner ID of a partner communication device intended to be registered as a partner. The communication device wirelessly transmits a signal including the partner ID to the partner communication device. The partner communication device determines whether the partner ID included in the received signal corresponds to the ID of the partner communication device itself, and if so, the communication device registers the partner ID as the ID of a permitted communication partner. The above operations are repeated with the communication device and the partner communication device interchanged.
Robotic system with wall-based packing mechanism and methods of operating same
A system and method for operating a robotic system to place objects into containers that have support walls is disclosed. The robotic system may derive a packing plan for stacking objects on top of each other. The robotic system may derive placement locations for one or more objects overhanging one or more support objects below. The derived placement locations may be based on utilizing one or more of the support walls to secure the placed object.
STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM
An automated storage and retrieval system including at least one autonomous transport vehicle, a transfer deck that defines a transport surface for the vehicle, at least one reciprocating lift, a first and second pickface interface station connected to the deck and spaced apart from each other, each station forming a pickface transfer interfacing between the vehicle on the deck and the lift at each station so that a pickface is transferred between the lift and the vehicle at each station, wherein the vehicle is configured to pick a first pickface at the first station, traverse the deck and buffer the first pickface, or at least a portion thereof, at the second station so that the second station has multiple pickfaces buffered on a common support in an order sequence of pickfaces according to a predetermined case out order sequence of mixed case pickfaces.
Maintenance access zones for storage and retrieval systems
A maintenance access system for a storage and retrieval system having a storage and retrieval space and automated transport vehicles disposed in the space. The system includes at least one maintenance access control unit associated with a portion of the space, at least one barrier in the space and defining a boundary of the portion of the space and configured to substantially prevent the passage of the vehicles past the at least one barrier, and a controller connected to the control unit, the controller being configured to receive a signal from the at least one control unit for isolating the portion of the space associated with the at least one control unit, where the controller in response to the signal closes the at least one barrier isolating the portion of the space and effects the removal from or shutting down of vehicles within the portion of the space.
Device for storing elements
A device is provided for storing elements, each element including a first wireless communication unit. The device includes at least two drawer units each including: a drawer including a bottom defining at least one location for receiving an element; for each location, at least one second wireless communication unit including an antenna having a radiation-zone field, each antenna having a first state in which the antenna is activated and a second state in which the antenna is deactivated; and a data-processing unit able to control the activation and deactivation of the antenna of each second communication unit according to a control law.

Monitoring system
A control device for controlling a display device, when an abnormality has occurred in any of a plurality of monitoring target devices, executes a first display control that causes the display device to display abnormality occurrence information including at least identification information of the monitoring target device in which the abnormality has occurred and occurrence time information indicating the time when the abnormality occurred, and when one item, or one item among two or more items, of the abnormality occurrence information displayed in the display device has been selected, executes a second display control that acquires image capturing information of the monitoring target device corresponding to the selected abnormality occurrence information from a storage device and causes the display device to display the acquired image capturing information, and executes a third display control that acquires operation information of the monitoring target device corresponding to the selected abnormality occurrence information from the storage device and causes the display device to display the acquired operation information.
Product handling and packaging system
Embodiments of product handling systems facilitate transfer of individual product items from incoming bulk form into dedicated trays for inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging. Inspection may comprise interrogation of product items within a tray by electromagnetic (e.g., optical, hyperspectral) or other (e.g., physical, acoustic, gas sensing, etc.) techniques. Prior to packaging, product items disposed within the tray may be stored in a movable carousel responsible for controlling environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, illumination, ambient gases, product-to-product interactions, and/or others. Movement of product items from a carousel's transfer station to an outside staging position may be accomplished using robots and/or conveyor belts. Embodiments may allow rapid, low-cost consumer selection of specific individual product items based upon their accompanying metadata (e.g., source, identifier), in combination with the results of inspection (e.g., visual appearance). Embodiments may receive product items pre-packaged in tray format to expedite inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging.
Delivery retrieval station
A delivery retrieval station, as provided herein, may include a delivery base and a destination container. The delivery base may include a receiving platform and a conditioning assembly in thermal communication with the receiving platform. The conditioning assembly may be disposed within a mechanical compartment beneath the receiving platform. The destination container may be selectively mounted to the base station. The destination container may include a base wall and sidewall defining a storage chamber. The base wall may be selectively supported on the receiving platform in a delivered position.
Modular pallet repair kit and method of use thereof
A modular repair kit for repairing damaged pallet rack frames and a method of installation thereof which incudes modular elements that can be customized by mechanical process such as cutting, drilling and connecting, for example, by bolts, that avoids major modifications, such as welding, at the installation site. The modular repair kit utilizes a standard replacement post assembly that can be cut to fit into nearly any size gap that is created when the damaged portion of the pallet rack frame is removed. The remaining elements of the repair kit can then be customized to accommodate any size of the standard replacement post assembly.
