Multilayer structure instant noodle and method for manufacturing same

A multilayer structure instant noodle which is manufactured through steps in which an inner layer noodle sheet is sandwiched between outer layer noodle sheets such that these noodle sheets are combined to form a single noodle sheet, the single noodle sheet is flat-rolled so as to form noodle lines, and the noodle lines are gelatinized and dried, and a blending amount of salt in the inner layer noodle sheet is higher than a blending amount of salt in the outer layer noodle sheet.

Antimicrobial wash

A new antimicrobial wash for treating fresh fruits and vegetables to reduce microorganisms, especially human pathogens, comprises an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and one or more fruit acids.

Feed supplement comprising oligosaccharides and medium chain fatty acids

The present invention relates to a feed supplement and a feed containing this feed supplement, comprising 1) a homotrimer, heterotrimer, homotetramer and/or heterotetramer of a carbohydrate component selected from the group consisting of a pentose saccharide, a hexose saccharide, glucuronic and galacturonic acid, and 2) a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA), selected from the group consisting of caproic acid (C6), caprylic (C8), capric (C10) and lauric acid (C12). The invention also refers to the use of the feed supplement or feed in order to improve the efficiency of animal production, such as weight gain, feed conversion, nutritive value, health and wellbeing through the selective elimination of enteropathogens.

A method of preparing a food item includes the steps of placing a first food element in a package base, placing a second food element in the package base, adding a package top to create a package, and drawing the first food element around the second food element by vacuum sealing the package. The method also includes the step of forming a food item in which the first food element substantially envelops the second food element by cooking the first and second food elements in the sealed package. Each food element retains its identity after cooking.

Tetrahydropyrazolo [3,4-b] azepine derivatives and their use as allosteric modulators of metabotropic glutamate receptors

The present invention relates to novel compounds of Formula (I), wherein M, A and Y are defined as in Formula (I); invention compounds are modulators of metabotropic glutamate receptors—subtype 4 (“mGluR.sub.4”) which are useful for the treatment or prevention of central nervous system disorders as well as other disorders modulated by mGluR.sub.4 receptors. The invention is also directed to pharmaceutical compositions and the use of such compounds in the manufacture of medicaments, as well as to the use of such compounds for the prevention and treatment of such diseases in which mGluR.sub.4 is involved. ##STR00001##

Automated method and system for the analysis of total dietary fiber

The invention consists of a method for determining Total Dietary Fiber (TDF) and its sub-fractions, Insoluble Dietary Fiber (IDF) and Soluble Dietary Fiber (SDF) in food and feed samples which utilizes flexible reaction/filtration containers that can be divided into one or more sections for capturing the IDF and SDF fractions separately or for capturing TDF in its entirety. Each container is fashioned as a bag that can be temporarily sealed in multiple locations to create multiple sections and is made of non-porous and porous material. Use of these containers eliminates the need for problematic transfers of mixtures from beaker to filter, and vastly improves the filtration process.
